Anyone Game? 2 Castles and a Road Trip TR! Last Day and TR Wrap Up! #2796; 10/01

Now......we just need to find out if ACDSNY is happy to store this one at her place. :lmao:

Well if we're going to flash the CHPs with red can it be the darker red?:lmao:

NICE phone cover Paula Unfortunately I don't have an I-Phone and no cover fits mine

I wanted the DCL one so bad, but I have a Samsung S4.:sad1:

lovely photos...

The land is a favorite place also, I am surprised of the crowd numbers though.... What a great morning for you guys!

So was I. It was amazing to be able to get on those rides multiple times without any hassle.

What an awesome morning at Epcot! I can't believe you got 6 rides on TT, 2 on Soarin' and met the characters! I've never seen the park that empty!

I am really curious as to what that parking lot is for in the middle of TT? It looks like all chevy cars but then of course I'm not too good at ID cars so I could be totally wrong. Weird way to park cars though in any case!

I'm not sure what that parking lot is for. But the cars look really decorative as you go round TT. They are all Chevrolets; so it might be like a promotional showroom or something.

All caught up again..I should add for now :rolleyes2 Your experience at Epcot only proves what I have been saying for decades you stay at a resort you use EMH either in the morning or at night I don't get how so many planning sites say to avoid that park at all costs :confused3

Speaking also as a vertically challenged person YES Goofy is ridiculously tall DH is just under 6' I'm thinking Goofy is about 7 ' :lmao:

Photos lost, you remember my Pluto Birthday pictures ? Took PP over a month to find them so glad that they finally did but really :faint: never again A big argument that everyone MUST have their own camera for capturing the important photos

I'm guessing that at least part of that parking lot under TT is a CM parking lot

I totally agree. I read all the commentary and the tour guide convention of avoiding the park with EMH and I just don't get it.

Yes, I do remember your Pluto birthday pictures....now that you mention it. At least yours were still in the system. By the time I realised, it was way past the one month mark for me.

I don't know if that is a CM parking lot. It could be. If you do find out, let us know!

Yeah for Enterprising Protocol of Tomorrow! Yeah for Soarin' I think Alison said the queuing system was better at DCA. I would welcome that at WDW! Cool re Test Track. You inspired me now to try this again. We tried it before it was updated and I didn't get it. I like speed and was really looking forward to it but it was a bit disappointing. But it sounds like its revamp might be worth another crack at the whip! I love that canary yellow Camaro! Oh I adore Mouse Gear I think its one of my favourite stores in WDW. I love the HM iphone cover I must add one of those babies to cart! At the moment I am obsessed with my DCL one I got on my last sail...

But I might need a HM to swap out! :-) Shopped out PIO? Lol. Jo would take my pulse if this ever happened to me. I will still be sending stuff back to my resort when I am the 1000 guest at HM..

I hope you like the revamped TT. I liked that first section better than the previous version. The darkness does make it seem a lot more 'cool'.

Your phone cover is beautiful!!! That's a great buy.

I'm not quite shopped out....at least I don't think so. But there has definitely been a slow-down on the shopping front. I'm still buying; but it has to be something that I need.

Today, it seems the #1 activity anywhere is taking a picture (and posting it!)

I find it humorous and fascinating, for back in the 70's, and even later, people with cameras were fairly uncommon. And the photograph was a much rarer (and pricier) thing! I "splurged" on my first day at MK back in 73 with two rolls of film: and I was the only one in the busload I came in with carrying a camera, and one of the few in the park with one!

:)

Jud

My dad always had a camera. He had a Minolta camera and took a lot of pictures of us kids.

DH used to be the photographer in the family; until I picked up his camera. Now, it's almost an extension of my arm.

But yes, we backpacked through US, Europe and Asia when we were younger and were gone for a year. We came back with 45 rolls of film. Processing cost us a FORTUNE!

Yes you're right but I think it's a terrific thing that we do now When my kids were little ( and they are now both pushing 40 ) we didn't take many pictures at all Just lived in the moment especially at WDW WISH we had pictures from then wish we had a lot of pictures from when I was a kid too ( pushing 60 )

I am so thankful that my dad took as many pictures as he did. We have albums full of us when we were kids. It's a lot of fun to look back at and enjoy.

It definitely is something that I have come to appreciate as I grow older.

I am really looking forward to TT now. I was tempted by the Richard Petty experience...DW said no....something about me not getting out with everything I went in with and my consultant having kittens..

Well if we're going to flash the CHPs with red can it be the darker red?:lmao:

No. It's better in bright colors, particularly yellow...

...though maybe with a touch of green.

And just to get back in touch with reality a wee bit, here is what I call Grounded.

You definitely deserve this ->:worship::worship::worship: I can't believe you did TT 6 times!!!

Okay can you please explain to me a couple of things. Is FP- just the regular old paper FP? And also, why would you get flamed? Are people on the DIS thinking it's cheating to use both a FP+ and a FP-??

:wave2: Hi stranger ! FP- and FP + during the testing it was allowed and even encouraged for a time to use both ..some people thought it was not allowed and was somehow cheating the system...BAH to that ! CMs were told to encourage BOTH anyway moot point FP- ( old paper ones ) all gone at WDW only place to find it now is old ones for sale on eBay :sad2:

I am tempted by Richard Petty as well. It is on my bucket list; but not at the top half.

I hope you're okay. :flower3:

Is that the queue in Soarin'??? WOW!

:teeth:

Yes, people on the Dis think it's cheating to use both FP+ and FP- at the same time.

I kinda figured that Disney would put a stop to it if they didn't want people to access both systems. They eventually did.....but it's a moot point now.

Or we could go with the blue...then I would be blue no more.:goodvibes

Blue is the winner!!! :thumbsup2

Och! It’s Blissful Bites Brunch Time

Anyone else notice that I hadn't eaten yet this morning?

It was all part of a cunning plan that I'd decided to follow for this day. Afterall, I WAS at Epcot for one of those special events, right?
It was 11 am in the morning and I was starving by this stage. I had no idea what the boys had for breakfast but they did grab something at the resort before meeting me in Future World. So, it was all about me and what blissful bite would grab my fancy.

First decision as we crossed the bridgeway. Left or right?

For a change, I headed to the right and the first booth we encountered was this one.

I'm a one-pot screamer; so not only was this a bit too early in the morning but there was no way I was going to indulge.

Next to the right was full of cliché's. The only thing missing was the traditional Scottish porridge.

You think I’m kidding? To the haggis, beer and whiskey, ADD tartan AND the bagpipes.

Scotland the Brave! No Mel Gibson in sight, though.

Breakfast for me this morning consisted of Seared Scottish Salmon with Cauliflower Puree, Watercress and Malt Vinaigrette.

....and the Scottish Banoffee Tart with Bananas, Scottish Whisky Toffee, Walkers Shortbread Crumbles and Sweet Cream.

I learnt something else about myself this morning. When it comes to food and me being hungry, s-h-a-r-i-n-g does NOT belong in my vocabulary. Yes, I was a cruel mum this morning. DS was left to ponder what the Banoffee tart tasted like.

You’re wondering too?

Didn't you lick the screen and taste it????

Vignettes of the World

After Scotland the Brave, we headed on back towards this marker.

This time, we headed left of the sign board and in the opposite direction to the way most people would travel round the world.
Believe it or not, I had come full circle.

Shrimp, lamb, pav and Wolf Blass. I can have that anytime at home.

We kept walking. Would you believe that this was 11.30 am? Anyone know what time it was in Mexico? You'd think that there was no one else around, wouldn't you?

I think the Mariachi band were just grateful to have someone to play to.

These CM were certainly glad to see DS. He was seeking an Agent P Adventure. We found out that the devices needed to be started within a 20 minute timeframe or they would be deactivated. We weren't quite ready for DS to start this just yet. So we pressed on.

It was so empty that we felt we were an Outpost in the middle of nowhere.

I checked out the sign post to see where in the world I was.

It had been so bereft of people this morning that I was pretty pleased to see some other heads around.

Even these Mickey Heads counted!

Where were the people? They were enjoying the booths.

I never did get any alcohol from the booths on this trip.

A Trip down Memory Lane B.C. aka Fun Storming the Viking Castle

When DH and I were younger (not THAT much younger than we are today), we bummed around the world for close on a year. I do mean the literal world....and this was all B.C. Before. Child.
That pretty much meant that we spent the entire time arguing about where in the world we were going to go. What did we know in our youth??

One of the places that I totally disagreed with DH about was heading north. Way North into Norway. Needless to say that once we got to Norway, the bickering stopped as I found that I was wr....wr....wr....not right about not wanting to go to Norway. It was beautiful. That was some *mumble* *mumble* years ago and I've been finding ways to say sorry to DH about the bickering without having to actually say sorry. You know what I mean.

Norway at Epcot provides me with one of those non-verbal apology opportunities. I think that DH and I take our own internal trip down memory lane whenever we step over the boundary that instantly transports us to that Way North land.

The Stave Church is one of my favourite buildings at Epcot.

We were heading here to claim our last FP+ for the day. It was the reason why we didn't claim an Agent P gadget for DS to start straight away.

In reality, we needn't have bothered with FP's today. There were a few more people here now that we were approaching midday; but it was still rather empty at Epcot.

The first time DH and I got on this attraction was in 2005. Then we had thought it was one of the best rides at Epcot and had thoroughly enjoyed the ride through time. Afterall, it was taking through a journey of Viking Norway....

....through to Modern Norway.

I make it a point to hit this country every time we're at Epcot as a means of allowing DH to indulge in his feeling of being justified in insisting we go to Norway.

We got into the dragon headed boat.

At some stage of this ride, we head backwards and look like we’re going to tip over the waterfall. And then we eventually make it out to the quaint fishing village.

When we got off, DH and I looked at each other. Yup, it was one of those 'looks'.
Whatever did we see in this ride? It sure didn't match up to the ride we had romanticised about in our memory banks.

We stopped for a minute or two in the theatre to enjoy a glimpse of the Norway countryside that we both fell in love with.

And then it was time for DS to have his trip down memory lane.

He's outgrown the need for the Viking helmet. But he sure remembers this moment!

I'm really glad that we went into Maelstrom on this trip. Rumours are that its days are number and it might be replaced with a Frozen themed attraction.

princess::upsidedow

I still can't believe how empty Epcot was. Your "breakfast" sounded nice. I have to admit that I have kind of outgrown Maelstrom. I used to love it, but I can't remember when I last did this even though it is usually a walk on now.

Corinna

Good Grief woman looking at the last picture Do you have a picture in the attic like Dorian Gray ? Do you not age at all ?

Love the way you don't apologize to DH ;)

When Ed and I got together last we went to Norway too That large troll you're pictured with is gone The young CMs had no idea what the heck Ed was talking about when he kept asking I love the Stave church too but the ride wasn't as I remembered either

Scotland booth Vegetarian Haggis My Grandfather ( on my mother's side ) was born and raised in Glasgow he would have had a fit about that I can't wrap my mind around it NOT that I would have be adventurous enough to try the real thing no maam I am a chicken when it comes to new food No that dessert I would have been all over Walker Shortbread a real weakness for me add toffee
and chocolate :faint:

I can see you skipping the beer that early hour, especially on an empty stomach ...in your picture though there's a young girl that looks like she's going to indulge

I agree, how come you don't look any older, but I sure do. We enjoy Maelstrom too. I've been drooling over the DCL Norway itineraries for 2015, but it's out of my price range.

What a fun morning and while I won't lick the monitor, that banoffee does look tasty. LOVE the lack of crowds. We went on Malestorm for the first time ever this past trip and I have to admit...none of us got it.

We may have enjoyed the movie after more, and most certainly the shop.

What an awesome morning! I love F&W and just can't believe there were no crowds yet!
