Anyone from Reno NV or Las Vegas?

Hi everyone! I am looking for anyone from or familiar with either Reno or Las Vegas. Hubby is currently in Recruiting School and looks like we are going to end up in one of those places.
Are the school systems good, what is housing like and maybe cost of living ideas? Any help would be appreciated!
