Anyone from Alabama? Mobile?

Taking a trip there in April, need info please! Whats it like in Mobile? Where to stay, what to do, where to eat.

My BIL and SIL used to live in Mobile. My favorite place to stay was their house. I never really paid that much attention to where to stay or eat. I loved going down to Gulf Shores, though and going to the beach at any time of year. On the way to the beach you go through Foley, which has an amazing Outlet Mall.
Sorry I can't be more help. While they lived there we all had babies and toddlers. We spent alot of time by their pool, a little shopping, and the guys golfed.
We did go to a restaurant called Nan-See's one time. They all raved about how the shrimp was the best they'd ever had. I don't care for shrimp so I didn't have it. It was right on the Gulf and out away from the city. Nice place.

Lots to do in Mobile. Gulf shores. The azaleas should be blooming. You can take a tour of the USS Alabama.

Thanks everyone! We will be visiting my DH's DD and her Husband, so I am hoping to get the GRAND tour! The last time I spoke to them, they were NOT thrilled with Moving there, but, had to, do to her DH's Job.

My dad and stepmother live in Foley, AL which is about 10 miles from Gulf Shores. I have been to Bellingrath Gardens and they are beautiful! There are a lot of beautiful planations there too to tour in the area. If you wish I can try to find out some other tourist attractions around Mobile. Daulphin Island is very interesting. It has an old fort there, Fort Morgan. DH went on the USS Alabama and enjoyed it. At Gulf Shores there are a lot of condos and very very few motels. Sorry I don't know more about Mobile.

The Battleship is fun. Gulf Shores is a nice beach and not too far. Foley has the outlet mall-and you must find and eat at the "Gift Horse" in Foley. At least it was wonderful years ago when we went!
