Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

Well I had DH go get us some green Mickey ears toady. We keep slowly getting to little things that we need. I picked up an over the door shoe holder this week. We have a few things packed in a suitcase lot a lot. We don't have a lot of room to have suitcases laying around. WE are getting so close!!! :cheer2: Can't wait.

Turk - As much as I wish you were right, we are not sailing until exactly 4 weeks from today. :flower: BTW I have two teenage daughters sailing. You can add two more to your list of teens.

I think we have all our shopping completed. We went on a maraton shopping spree last weekend. Wore me out. We will be the family with the three nicely dressed daughters and the parents in rages :earboy2: ....j/k.

Have a great day everyone :sunny: .

Turk, my dd's are 11 & 8. They start taking SAT's in 3rd grade.

Just picked up Megan (11). She spent the night with a friend. She has 102 fever. Lets get sick now and get it over with!!!!!

:teacher: 85 + 2 = 87 Disers so far!!!!

Welcome BigAl. Yes, let's hope this cruise is a quiet one!!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Well, the good news is that we got our phone call on Friday that our documents are in!!! Yeeha! TA says that everything looks in order, that means early dining for us. I was nervous.
Bad news is we have another bug in our house! DD4 came home from school on Friday with a temp, and has been vomiting since last night. YUK. WILL IT EVER END???!!!! I guess they better get it over with now!

More snow this weekend too. I am so ready to get out of here! :Pinkbounc

Have a good weekend everyone and welcome aboard new cruisers! :wave2:

I am so glad Megan isn't vomiting. She just has the temp, cough & sore throat. We were going to go shopping today to find her a bathing suit. Guess not! Looks like another fun filled day of being cooped up in the house.

Here is a good question............Who has early seating, Who has late seating?

We have early....Kate and family have early (I'll be looking the well dressed princess: and the parents in rags!!! I completely understand) :rotfl:

I will be spraying lysol on everything today!!!

We have late seating. That should be OK for us. The kids can eat anytime they want and by dinner time they should have played enough to get ride of some energy and sit down during dinner.

I have to go buy fins yet for oldest DS. The younger DS has all of his snorkel gear. Mabey we'll get out today and buy the fins.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend!

Welcome to the board BigAl.

No barfing here but dd has a head cold.

We were able to change to early seating, and it was a big relief. I'm sure my older two could cope with a later seating but dd wouldn't. I don't think I'd like it either. I don't like to eat that late. If we hadn't been able to switch it would have been fine, I'm sure. We would adapt.

Since dh and oldest ds are out of town and Leah has a cold, we skipped church and I made good use of the morning bringing the summer clothes down from the attic and scouting out the arm floaties and sand toys, etc. Thank God for slow growing kids. A lot of stuff still fits my younger two kids.

It is 70 here right now. I have been trying to get my neon white legs in the sun so I don't scare anyone. :rotfl:

I have one dd packed! All her clothes are new. I haven't let her wear them yet. The oldest is no where ready to go. We can't find a bathing suit to fit her. The girls are out of school on Friday, so I am going to take them shopping then. I hope to have everything purchased by then. I plan on buying any leftover Easter candy at WM for our road trip and for the girls to take to the movies on the ship.

Is anyone ordering a gift basket for the stateroom? I am really debating about it. I don't know if there is a need to fill a basket with candy for the kids when there is so much free food on the ship. What are you doing?

Well, back to the :sunny:

I have the late seating for our whole group. I can't believe that it is coming so fast. WOW.

Our temp here is 19 but the windchill makes it feel like 7 out. I can't wait to be anywhere that is above freezing. Just a few more weeks.

We are not going to do the gift baskets. I went to Sam's and got a package of skittles and the kids will have candy from there Easter baskets. My kids would rather be able to buy a few things in the stores instead of having the basket waiting for them. Besides that my kids don't really want anything that is in the baskets. They would like a beach towel but they would rather pick it out in the stores. I figure I will give the kids a limite of how much they can spent per day and if they don't spent it one day they can roll it over to the next. My DS's like to play video games and they will spend most of there money there.

They have also been work in around the house and at G'ma's house to earn money for the cruise. I went online and printed Disney dollars and made copies. They get that for now and I'll trade for real money before the cruise. I just haven't figured out how much money they should get per day. Anyone else giving a daily allowence to the children? If so how much are you doing per day or for the cruise?

Jill

I have a $100-$150 limit for the whole cruise, my mom hasnt decided, but i also get anything i get from my only paycheck prior 2 the cruise, It will actually go to my checking at our first Sea day :P (thank god for Direct Deposit, I'll jsut have to know how much i made prior to leaving :cool1: )

I re-read through pretty much the enier passporter today, all the stuff that applies to me @ least + a bit more.

Welcome aboard BigAl :boat:

Cant belive its only 25 days!!!! :hourglass

Everyone is always so nice on this board. :flower:
We've got late seating also.
My goal is to try to travel lighter than usual.
Has anyone ever rented the Tux on board to save space?

I've changed my mind about the gift baskets, Hope. I thought it would be so neat to surprise the kids, but truthfully, it's overkill for them. We live a pretty simple and low key lifestyle. Just going on this cruise is the biggest thing we've ever done for vacation. If it was just dh and me going, I would definitely have some surprises waiting.

I've been thinking about letting the kids have a preset amount on their cards. They've saved a lot of allowance money. Maybe, it will be a fun and educational experience. I'm guessing older ds will blow his the first day's stipend as fast as he can and learn from that experience. Younger ds will probably be conservative with his from the start. DD is only four, so no cash for her.

Dh was thinking about renting a tux, but he'll probably wind up wearing a suit.

I agree about the baskets. I plan on picking up Easter candy the day after, plus there are so many things on the ship for them to snack on, I don't see the need in spending the extra cash.

My dd's have been saving their money. They each have $100 spending. They will not have charging privelages on their card. I will buy things for them and then they can pay me back when the bill comes in. I told them that I would pay for 1/2 of their hairbraids. The first cruise their braids were $50 each!!

No tux here for my dh!! I will be lucky to get him into a white shirt and tie for formal night. He did it on the first cruise and says he doesn't want to this time. I am begging him so we can get pictures made!! They turned out so good and they are on my bedroom wall! I want more!!!

Hope

I guess that is the down side for me about the cruise. DH isn't coming. I don't even have the chance to argue with him about getting dressed up or to get the pictures. I know we will have a great time but I will miss DH. We don't normally do vacations without each other.

I'm hoping to see the time go by a little faster!!

Jill
