Anyone for the Western cruise 4/9/05???

Bank stuff came today, I feel like a real person with money now :dancer:

I dont think my mom plans on any baskets, but you never know, she might have one sent and us not know it :confused3 she was able to keep a cruise secret for a long time, this would be nothing  I think i might have my mom order me that Teen Boy's set from the gifts thing with the cruise docs, i would be very happy :jumping2:

I got final arengments set to meet up with a friend i had from my last cruise, she just happens to be on her last day there while I'm on my first!!! :goodvibes We're gonna hang out at Downtown Disney and go shopping, and try to go over 2 pleasure Island too *is so exited* i really miss her, living in Britan and Iowa jsut dont match time zone wize!!!

only 24 more days!!!! :hourglass

:flower: Welcome Al & Joe & All that are lurking (reading but not writing). 17 of us have early seating. One couple ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo with no kids are late seating. They are on the wait list but don't mind :love2: alone time.I'm so excited  that I even dreamed Disney last night ( we were the only ones on formal night not color co-ordinated) I'm really Ok with that. See you soon :wave2: Linda

I haven't posted in a while but I've been keeping up with things. I'm getting pretty darn excited. We've got a busy couple of weeks ahead so I'm hoping that time will go fast!

My main goal the week before the cruise is going to keep the kids quarantened so they don't pick up anything. We went on our first Disney cruise last year and ended up at Cape Canaveral Hospital the morning of the cruise. DS had strep but the doc's at the hospital were great. They gave him a shot which cured him in 24 hrs and we didn't have to bother with medicine at all! It was just pretty hairy and a royal pain. So...this year...quaranteen...lucky me.

I'm not going to do baskets this time around. Last time I made them myself (saving lots of money) but had to hand carry them on board and schlep them around. While the sand toys and blow up toys were a hit (and I'll bring them back this time) we really didn't need the snacks and coloring books. We were so busy and always so full that we didn't have much idle time to eat snacks and color in the cabin.

Has anyone started packing? I've been thinking about it but haven't started. I am definatley bringing less than I did last time. I didn't need a different outfit every night. I think I'll go with a couple pairs of black pants and a bunch of different tops. The rest of the time will be bathing suits and shorts.

I can't wait for a dose of warm weather. While Atlanta is not the coldest place it hasn't been warm enough for shorts. I could wear shorts year round!
We went in March last year and the weather was perfect so I'm hoping that we will have the same this time around.

Have a great day everyone.

wow!!! It's only 23 days!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

Not much going on today, Started projects for my computer Class finals (Next week already!) My Computer Applications II class we have to make a PowerPoint for a trip we're trying to sell to people, bet you can guess what i chose!!!! ::MickeyMo ::MinnieMo

I should probably start emptying out my duffle bag full of junk so i can start packing

EEEEEEK!! 23 days!!! :hourglass

It is beginning to feel real!! We got our Disney Reward Card today. I was so excited. I love getting free money!! I put it in my cruise box, I showed my kids were it is, so when I forget, they will be able to remind me.
Now the only thing that I don't have yet is my passport. I do have my BC so I am okay if it doesn't make it.

Are we really 3 1/2 weeks away? :cloud9: It doesn't seem possible. Has anyone given any thought to rebooking while on board? I am seriously thinking about it and have checked on October 14, 2006.

Everyone have a great night.

Hope

My mom is thinking of rebooking while on board for sometime in 06, but even if she does book she probably wont tell us! She definately dosent want to pull us out of school and june is out of the question pour mon voyage à France (thats my trip to france, in French of course ;) )

Looked at some menues from castawayclub(dot)com they all look so yummy!!!

23 days!!! :hourglass

Well I have to admit that I started packing last night. Kids were in bed early and Hubby was painting basement, so I started. Basically I am starting so I can figure out who needs what. Having to pack for 6 people, I am the one they blame when something is missing!!
Oh and before I forget, someone was talking about the KTTW holders. Did you say you got them at Walmart. I need to get some. I felt like we were always loosing our cards last year.

Still haven't picked up our tickets from the TA. She told me she was off several days this week, but I forgot which ones. Figures!

I am with the Evans family, quarentine!!!!! After the month we have had, I don't need another bug in this house!! I keep telling the girls to use the hand sanitizer in school!

40 degrees outside today. At least it is not snowing!!! :cheer2:

Just as an update: I have packed both the girls clothes and have tried the trick with placing each child's clothes together into outfits into a ziploc bag - I couldn't believe how much space this has saved. We'll be away from home for 3 1/2 weeks - so I've packed at least 16 outfits for each of them plus pj's, bathing suits and coverups, dress up clothes - all this into one suitcase.

We got our doc's - no upgrade :confused3 oh well!

Finally worked out the Romance at Sea Package - had some difficulties initially as Disney would not allow me to make any arrangments as I booked through a TA, the TA booked through a booking agent and they would not arrange the massages and Palo either. Finally the TA spoke with a manager at Disney and the allowed me to make the necessary arrangements.

I was told that Pirate night is on Cozumel night- anyone else heard that it was on this day??

We are very exicted to have a Vacation again

Here's to warmer weather and NO SNOW-the great white north appears to be covered with it!

Kate, the lanyards with pouch at Walmart are in the jewelry section. They're not so pretty but they're only .97 cents.

Hope, it's funny you should mention October of 2006, we've been talking to my best friend and her husband about going in October of 2006. Did you see that one of the weeks stops at C.C. twice?

I haven't packed anything but I have had us all try on our summer stuff from last year to see what I need to buy. Since my inlaws live near two humungous outlet complexes, I'm dropping the kids at their grandmother's on Friday and heading to the outlets.

I was going to work on magnets tonight but I'm too tired.

Hi everyone!
I'm watching the DCL program on Travel Channel as I write this-- It's fun watching and dreaming of our time on the ship in a little more than three weeks.
I haven't started packing, but made a list and have started putting things in the corner of my family room. Tried last summer's clothes on DD and luckily many things still fit her. Unfortunately I guessed the wrong size for the baby and the 6-9 month clothes I was hoping would fit for the cruise (plus the start of summer) are huge on him. I can't imagine that he'll grow that much in three weeks, so I'll be shopping for him. Thank goodness rompers for infants are pretty inexpensive and I have some gift cards that I've been saving since his shower and birth. It will just be such a shame that 3-6 month size will likely be too small this summer. Oh well!
Is anyone planning on doing the wine tasting? I wanted to do this with DH, but, according to past Navigators, Flounders will be closed during the "at sea" afternoons. So I may be going solo to this. Does anyone know when you sign up?
I'll be going to HD to get my Mickey paint chips, I'll grab extras if anyone wants me to mail some to them, just let me know!
Mary

Was in school for DCL special today, although I'll watch it friday when its on at 9 et/8ct (just for those who missed it) :sunny:

Mom ordered new bubles today, this time large, and they have little fish on top :teeth: Still need to go get those paint chips, mom is still not wanting to go :rolleyes1

Having fun with my Powerpoint Presentation, I'll have to send it to anyone who wants it after i'm done!

I dont know when Pirates night is, but I looked at the menu some GOOD food

22 days! my gosh, it's only 3 weeks from tommorow I'll be leaving!!! :hourglass

OK this better be the last of it. Myself and DD were sick with the stomach bug yesterday. The last of the family!! This better be the end. Its been quite a month in this house!
Anyway, thanks for the tip on picking up the passbook holders at Walmart. I will plan on getting there "without kids" next week!

Love that countdown! :cool1:

Well I think youngest DS is fighting the stomach flu. We sat in the bathroom the other night at 3am with him feeling sick. Never did get sick. He has been really run down. Hope he fights it off or gets it soon.

I get to go to a pin trading this weekend. Hope to get some great pins.

The DS's leave on Sat for spring break with there dad. I get a little time with DH alone.

As for the time left until the cruise. ITS DRAGGING!!!!

Jill

Oh, gosh, Jill. I hope this passes your family over. I just got a call from a friend who was going to bring her kids and herself to have lunch with us today before homeschool co-op. They have the flu. I'm bummed for them but glad we didn't have lunch together the day before it hit. We'd all be sick. Leah's getting over a cold. Yesterday, she suddenly developed some serious ear pain. Sure enough, she's got a whopper of an ear infection.
I hope your boys have a great Spring Break and you and dh enjoy your time as a couple.

I haven't told dh yet but I'm taking the kids to his parents house Friday morning (two hours away) and we'll get them back Saturday afternoon when the whole family meets at my bil and sil's house for their triplet's first birthday party.

Kid-free shopping!! Since I'm going to have Friday to myself I'm going shopping for the kids and maybe for me. I haven't bought myself spring/summer clothes in several years. I hope there is someone in the store to help me. I'm completely fashion inept. My in-laws live in Lancaster, the Mecca of outlet shopping for our area.

3 Weeks from now I'll be heading out to meet my old friend at Downtown disney, we'll be up very early though, flights are bad like that, yeesh, still need to go drag mom out of the house for the lime green mickeys

No sickness in our house, it went by last month, thank goodness were not due again till summer comes, it's been beutiful weather lately though, nice 50 degrees (high for this time of year here) :sunny:

21 days, three weeks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :hourglass

I hope that everyone that is sick feels better soon. :flower: I'm a little worried because no illness has been through my family other than a few sniffles. I don't want to be ill while on the ship.

I thought about doing a family basket but then changed my mind. I thought it would be a nice surprise but I really don't think we need it. We will grab a few munchies for the shows and a few cans of pop to have in the staterooms while we are in port the night before. :earsboy:

No tux here. I think it would be neat to see my DH in a tux but I don't think he would do it. Are you going to go for it Al? :cool1:

We hope to do the wine tasting and high tea (I think my mom will really enjoy this. No DH though.). Please join us Mary if you would like. Sorry I know nothing about Flounders. I wish I could be of more help.

Still no docs :sad2:

Good luck to those that still need to shop. I hope you find all that you are looking for.

I am shopping tomorrow. I need to find a bathing suit for Megan, 11.
Should be a fun trip. Other dd is playing with a friend so I don't have to drag her along too! With the price of gas, I hate going anywhere!!!

I dread driving to the port, 600 miles is a LONG trip. Most of ours will be at night. We won't be leaving until at least 1 CST time so we should be pulling in to Titusville around 1 AM. Yes, I will be the one in the line to board with dark circles under my eyes!!

I hope every one is feeling better. The one thing I worry about most is that one of our kids gets sick on board. Even worse we are traveling with dd's 11 year old friend. What if she gets sick!! That would make a wonderful trip!!

We will just say a little prayer and hope that helps :)

3 weeks from tomorrow we will be leaving. I think the next 3 weeks are going to go by very slowly!!

Must go start a load of clothes!! Later............Hope

Just wanted to tell everyone that my DW is having her wisdom teeth removed tomorrow. We are both nervous as to the healing time that it will take. The doctor said that she should be back to normal in a week. I think it's cutting it close but i'm no professional.

I can't wait for the cruise though. Went shopping today and picked up some shorts. Kind of feels weird since it was only 30 here today. Can't wait for anything above 60. It will be a wonderful time.

Only 3 more weeks til we fly out. WOW! Have fun and stay healthy.

Jordan

Jordan - I hope your DW has a speedy recovery. I just went through this with my DH and DD about a year or so ago. The first couple of nights were a little rough but after that they felt much better. My DD ended up with a dry socket and had to go in daily for about a week to have it packed and even with that she was feeling much better in a week or so. I would bet she would be good to go on the cruise. :flower:

I must just be weird but I think time is flying  It will be here and over before we know it. Then what :earseek:

Jordon, I have said a prayer for your daughter's quick and uncomplicated recover.

I want to go to the high tea, but Dh is not interested. He's a wine taster. I don't like wine.

Hope, I hear you about the drive. We are driving from NJ, it's 1020 miles.
