:cheer2: Does anyone know about dining reservations? I don't totally understand what you are suppose to do. Do we need to make reservations for all of our meals or just the character ones? Thanks=)

You need to make ressies for all your table service meals !! Are you on the dining plan? You can make ressies at 180 days out, I think we can make them just before Thanksgiving !!Have you checked out the menus yet??
 
You won't be able to make most of your ADR's until Nov. 21st because they haven't finished updating the reservation system. You can make reservations for Victoria & Albert's, Chef Mickey, and Cinderella's Royal Table (did I miss anything?) 180 days out.

No..where do I find the menus? Yes, we go the dining plan.

I just type in on google WDW Menus then find the one for AllEars . It list all the restaurants both counter, snack and table service ! Not all are on DDP though, but at teh side there is a section that says Dining plan if you hit that it shows you which ones are on the plan !!

Cinderellas is a 2 ts restaurant, you will need to call as soon as able for that one it can be hard to get a ressie ! Never actually eaten there or Chef Mickeys, but Chef Mickey is on our list for our Sept. trip Another great character meal is CrystalPalace with Pooh and friends . They have breakfast, lunch and supper !!That is in MK, Tusker House has a character breakfast at AK and at DHS there is Hollywood and Vine with the lil Einsteins for breakfast and lunch. Epcot has Garden Grill with characters for supper .My favorite is Crystal Palace , even when I am solo!!

The dining plan was a good choice!! As a PP said you will need to make reservations for your table service meals. You will do this by calling 1-407-WDW-DINE. You will need to be prepared to tell them the date and time you would prefer to eat. Make sure to call for Cinderella's Royal Table and Chef Mickey's at 180 days out to make sure you get what you want. The others can't be made until 11/21 because Disney is upgrading their system. I'm sure it will be hard to get through to them on 11/21 since there will be so many people trying to do the same thing you are...Good luck!!

As englishrose and LizAgna mentioned, these are tough "gets" especially CRT. You will most likely need to be on the phone at 6:59 a.m. (EST) dialing and redialing until you get a reservationist with WDW Dining. There are many "how to" threads on reserving CRT on the Restaurants Board. That would be a good place to begin your research. Good luck with your quest.

We have eaten at CRT, but it was long before the restaurant became "THE" end all be all reservation. In the good old days you could walk up to the podium at park opening and still get a lunch reservation. Sure isn't like that today! :rotfl:

Our 180 day mark is November 14 and we arrive on 5/13. Yours should be right around the corner now. Have a spectacular time--we were just talking about our first visit last night--fond memories. . .:lovestruc

I'm doing the DxDP and have finally (well, for the time being lol) decided on my restaurants.
 
Clare you are added !! Our list is growung .Thanks to all who have been helping out with advice for any newbies !! We were all there once and I for one know most of what I know came from these boards ! When I went as a First timer , my daughter saw how all my Dissing paid off She heard others saying how they didn't get to do thid or that and she was gloating as we did it all and had time to spare !!
 
I s anyone interested in heading up a PP share ?? I am interested in doing a share but am not computor savvy at all !! I did one in Feb and it was great!!
 
What dates are you going? I am going May 6 to May 12th. Although we will really only be at the parks on the 7 to 11th. I could probably head one up if I read a little more about it. I am way too organized as my husband says...plus the computer thing wouldn't scare me. I think the organizer has to make duplicate copies of the cd for each person is that correct?

Yes she does !! and the dates would be fine as you have a good month to get them completed ! If you decide to head it up count me in !!
 
we will be there the end of may. from the 25th to the 8th june, staying at the Beach club, going with both my parentd and dh's and will be celebrating my youngests 2nd birthday.
 
Ok. I am getting some information from someone that has already headed one. She told me no more than 5 people or gets to be too much and some people don't get the photos in on time. So let me get my spreadsheet started...I will count you in. I need to find out how to find 3 more people for May. I am going to preorder, since its $99.95. Will bring down the cost. Did your organizer send you the cd directly? She said there are different ways to do it.
 
How Photopass Share works:

1. Everyone will pay their portion when we close the group to new members.

The final amount will be calculated at that time:
Currently DL CD is $99.95+ $7 shipping that Disney charges to send the orignal CD. This works out to $21.39 pp as it stands right now with 5 people. We would then need to add approx $3.25 pp for Jewel Case/ CD ($.75), padded mailer ($.50) and postage ($2.00 approx)

Total cost=$24.64 as it stands now (updated 10/18)
Payment can be made with money orders sent to me or I can accept paypal. I will send emails to the email address everyone provided asking you to verify which payment method you will be using. If you chose paypal, I also sent a link to submit payment to me. If you want to mail payment, I will include my home address in my email to everyone.


2. Go on your trip and take LOTS of pictures! There is NO limit to the amount of pictures you can take! When you start your trip you will get a photopass card from any photopass photographer in the parks. Your photographer will then scan your card. Take as many pictures as you want !! Stop every photopass photographer you see. They are great opportunities to get the entire family in those pictures ! You can use multiple cards but it is easiest for you to try and use the same card as much as possible.

A great tip is to take a picture of the number on the back of your card or write it down somewhere. The cards are easy to lose, but the number is all you need to access any photos.

4. When you return home DO NOT create your own photopass account to view your photos If you create your own account with your pictures you will no longer be eligible for this Photopass share. You can either email me your photopass information and I will then enter it into our group account on your assigned upload days or you can enter your photopass #s into the group account yourself. I will email our group account login info to you on the night before your upload days. ( If you do enter your information into another account there will be no way for us to change this and you will then need to order your own photo cd).

5. Editting Info-We will assign everyone "upload days". That way, your pictures are kept together when they are entered into the system and your pics don't get mixed up with other familiy's photos. After you upload your pics on your assigned days, you are free to edit your pics up until the end of the share. All your edits will stay grouped with their original.

6. After everyone has entered/ editted their pictures, I will order our CDs from Disney. This will take about 2 weeks to arrive sometimes a little quicker. I will let everyone know as soon as I receive the CDs from Disney.

7. Once I get the CD from Disney, I will burn each family a CD of the vacation photos. I will TRY to send only your photos on a cd. If everyone follows along with the upload process correctly=) I will mail out everyone's CDs in a standard jewel case in a padded mailer.

Feel free to post any other questions you might have. I will try to login regularly and stay in contact with everyone throughout the share.


The first post will be updated as people join and will also contain the days for uploading photos.

I would be down for a photopass share, my dates are May 18th-30th. I'd be able to enter my codes as soon as I got home on the 30th so as to not cause a delay.
