Anyone for HHI 2011? Roll call time!

My wife and I have exhausted our DVC points through Oct 2011 (stayed at OKW three times this year). We will be staying at the Marriott Grande Ocean from 10/2-10/16. We love HHI!

We are trying to go July 24-29th on the wait list fore a 2br. We currently have June 12-17th but due to work schedules are going to have to give it up. We need tons of pixi dust so the whole family will be able to go down there.

Would you mind posting on the day you cancel your reservation? We're currently booked for June 6-12, but would prefer the 12th-17th. Good luck with your July dates

We'll be there April 17-23 in a 2 bedroom.
Right now my brother and SIL are waitlisted for a 1 bedroom, but if they don't get it, they're staying with us in our villa.

This will be our first summer in five years we are NOT going to HHI. We all LOVE, LOVE this resort and HHI itself - however we are going to WDW to watch DD dance with her dance team in the MK parade and also dance at DHS for another day so we are very excited about that!! However summer will not be the same without a visit to HHI - Enjoy yourselves and I look forward to seeing trip pics from everyone!!

The studio we were in at Thanksgiving, #1135, had a flat screen TV.

This should be our 10th year going to HH and we are getting shut out . . . it is very frustrating. Tried and only could get wait listed for the week of 4/17. Last year we got shut out in April too and had to go in August. Tried to make reservations for this summer the other day and got shut out from that too. Second son will be starting college this fall (will probably be August) and not knowing yet where he will be going limits how far into August we can plan for a vacation. Not happy at all.

Firstly, loved the photos..................we need more photos!!!

For all of you who have visited in march/ April before what should I expect weather wise? We arrive on 8th April for 11 nights and want to know whether it will be pool weather or if we'll be able to take boat trips etc! Will it be crowded?

I haven't been to HHI in about 30 years, and can't wait to go back this summer with my family and do it the Disney way. It will be me, DH, DS (8) and DD(6). We are not DVC members, but may be after this trip!

Mike the pool guy is such a great worker! We saw him around the pool at Thanksgiving for the first time, and I told DH that although we don't have any young children, if we did and Mike was at the pool, I'd feel 100% safe. He was always talking, asking questions, kept track of what kids belonged to what parents, etc.

We've been in March several times, but not April-yet. What can you expect in March? The unexpected! We've gone when it was mid-70s, sunny, played miniature golf, biked. Other times (sometimes during the same trip-the weather really varies), we've had clouds, wind, 50 degrees.

Thanks Simba's mum........guess we'll both find out what April is like this year!! Fingers crossed for some lovely warm temperatures!!!!

We are staying in a 2 bed for the first time on this trip love.......and the 1 bed we were in was in the main building with a view of a courtyard (not great!!). Can anyone tell me where the 2 beds are located?

On a completely different note, does anyone have an e-mail address for the resort? Thanks!

We'll end up over on HHI sometime this year. We may be staying there in October, but, not sure yet.

When we first bought our DVC, we bought HHI...with the intention that we would never stay there. Background.....9-11 happened and we were to go to New Orleans for vacation. THe Philadelphia airport had reopened however; Lousiana was still closed. My husband was a Tastykake route owner and he hired someone to run his route so, he was not able to change his dates. I went home, got the mail and there was a postcard from DVC HHI saying stay 3 nights get 4th free with tour. I went into the house, called the number, asked if they had anything for check in tomorrow, they said yes and we left.

Now, I always wanted to buy DVC from our DW trips however; hubby wouldn't budge. As we went on the above tour with no kids, we were bored. If was off season...we don't golf etc. So, we do tour, he is conviced to buy and we have the choice of HHI or VWL which they were selling. I ask guide what is the difference, he tells me taxes are cheaper at HHI. We buy 150 points at HHI with the intent to never use them. A few years later, after spending large amounts of money to go to Ocean City, Maryland for a few years in a row, I tell hubby....why don't we try HHI again so, we don't have to pay. Off we go..............HEAVEN is all I can say. Different experience with the kids, totally loved it.

I have since done a HHI add on and did buy those VWL points after all. I am SOOOO glad that the bulk of my points are at HHI....it is really the only way to guarantee a room. I have always been able to get a room at WDW at the 7 month window, usually the choice of locations (unless I book VWL). So, although I didn't buy where I wanted to stay.....it sure all worked out for us!
