Anyone flown into Tampa ?

We flew into Tampa last year. We had a long drive south so we stayed at the Marriott in the airport. The next morning we walked over to Thrifty, picked up the car and set off. The airport was empty and no queues. We were on our way within 15 minutes.

It was just as easy on the way back.

We would happily use Tampa again. We always check MCO and TPA for good deals.

Can I ask where you saw the flights?

BA site.

2 adults 1 child £1,419 but booked with Royalties and got for £1,360.

Thank you all for your replies, opinions and advice.

Like I said we have only ever used Sanford and I was lookin forward to seeing MCO but this is a no brainer (now youse have reasured me ) price wise.

We have good flight times and have even penciled in a trip to Busch on the way home !!

On your return flight, there is a TGI's in the aiport, or the airport is right next to a mall which has a Cheesecake Factory (you would have to drive there though, about 5 - 10 mins travel between them).

The mall is the International Plaza. Although we haven't flown from Tampa, we called in here on our way to a concert in Clearwater. Would be ideal for last minute shopping, and they have a large number of restaurants on Bay Street including, as noted above, a Cheesecake Factory (which we did visit) for that last decent meal before flying!!
