Anyone flown AirTran?

I frequent another board for fearful flyers and the former pilot that runs the board does not recommend this airline. He said he would never Air Trans.

Just a note of caution.

we have flown AirTran and will be doing so this trip. after joining their frequent flyers program, we got the cheapest flights going ever. from what I recall, it was not the airplane that had problems in the Florida crash, but the cargo they carried.

No, actually it was on October 18th and we were flying from MCO to Pittsburg. Kinda funny, isn't it, that it's happened more than once?

Leapyear Debbie-Did the "former pilot" fly for a big airline, like Northwest? I know that our 2 pilot friends who fly for Continental & NW don't like those smaller airlines.

Airtran's pilots are unionized.

I have flown airtran and I lvoe it. The planes are great and very nice and roomy. I highly suggest Air Tran over the others also. Air Tran even has non stop flights to Orlando from my airport in DAyton Ohio. Can't get better then that.

At least they fly Boeing planes...I don't like the airbus design but thats me..

I don't know what airline he worked for but I do know he loves SW. I think it has more to do with maintenance issues.
