Anyone familiar with curbside check in at Logan?

We're thinking of checking in at curbside this vacation. My understanding is we can pull up, get all our bags out of our vehicle....show our ID's and then they take the luggage from there (then Hubby and friend will park the truck in central parking). I thought this might be easier because we will have a toddler and our special needs child with us.

Any experiences?

That's pretty much it. The only things that I can think of to add are that you'll most likely first get in line to check your bags - there almost certainly will be a wait so don't arrive any later than you would normally (in fact, if you are also checking in for a boarding pass, you may want to get there earlier than normal). And, don't forget the tip! You are EXPECTED to tip the attendant - usually about $3 per checked item - when you check your bags.

We will definitely preprint our boarding passes before we get there...and will get there early for sure. I'm just concerned that there might be a long line outside...where there's less space to stand and wait safely. I suppose if when we pull up there's a long line we might just opt to park and cart the luggage ourselves as usual... I read on JetBlue's website that they charge $2.00 per piece, so we'll probably do more like $3 or $4.

One person will have to remain with the vehicle while others check in. This is not Logan's policy, it's a TSA directive. An unattended vehicle is subject to ticketing and/or towing. You may get a pleasant traffic officer who will allow you to do so but if he or she does not, simply send the driver to park the car and return to check in.

It wuld make more sense for ONE person to park the truck, and everyone else to check in / check luggage. If you do encounter a sympathetic State Police officer, the driver may be able to check his luggage then get in the truck and go park it. The other driver can stay with the truck temporarily, then they can switch places.

The cost for curbside check-in is $2 per bag. This goes to the airline, NOT to the Skycaps - something to keep in mind when determining the tip. Customary would be $1-$2 per checked bag, $2 minimum. Last trip, I tipped $5 - coincidence or not, my suitcase was the third one onto the luggage carousel at my destination.
