Anyone ever use Hotwire?

I just received an email from Hotwire with great rates -$169.67 including taxes for mid-size for 9/26/09-10/3/09. The rental is through Enterprise. Does anyone have experience using Hotwire or Enterprise? It seems too good to be true since most other companies are quoting rates much higher.

Thanks!

Though I have never booked a car rental with Hotwire we have booked hotel rooms many times through them. Always been very happy with our hotel for the excellent prices. If I saw a good rate for a car on hotwire I would have no problem booking it.

I just want to suggest you compare the type of cars Hotwire considers a mid-size versus the type of car Enterprise considers a mid-size to be sure it's such a good price.

I checked Enterprises's website and they do not list mid-size so I do think it will be a smaller car in general - thanks for pointing that out. I may have to go to full size but that was only about $200 which seems to be a good price .

They list a rental address of ER DISNEY
8701 WORLD CENTER DR ,ORLANDO, FL 32821. Is that right on Disney property? Do they have a shuttle? Any further info would be great.

TIA!

I've used Hotwire once in the past for a trip to AZ and all went smoothly. I do recommend reviewing the rental policy of the company you wind up with after Hotwire tells you who you'll be renting through to make sure everything is 100% on your end. Some company's require certain amounts for security deposits etc that will not be included in Hotwire's rate but will be refunded to you after you return the vehicle. I ended up with Hertz in Phoenix and got a premium for $188 for 4 days after all associated fees (airport concession fee, local fees etc). That car at Hertz desk in the airport turned into a offer from hertz to upgrade for $15 extra per day to a Corvette ZHZ! :hyper: $248 to have a vette for 4 days! Go on Hertz and see what they charge for that car day to day rate. rotflmao last I remember after taxes and fee's it would have been close to $1000.00. I'll give Hotwire another go next time we need to rent a car for sure!

Yes that is on Disney property near the Magic Kingdom on the loop just past the exit for the TTC. I believe enterprise will come get you from your resort and / or you can take a shuttle to their location. Have to check on that, we always just get the car from the airport, its not that much more $ and worth it to save the hassle of DME.

As with getting hotels on Hotwire you are trading flexibility with a lower price. Most of the time it works out great and you will save a lot of money in the process.

I have rented a car through Hotwire many times and loved it. Keep in mind that Enterprise is not located inside the airport. So it would be wise to decide what it is you are looking for. Also, most of the time this reservation with Hotwire will not be refundable.. so READ VERY CAREFULLY. If you put your dates in and times of pickup and drop off Hotwire will send you emails all the time (almost every other day) and let you know when the prices have dropped. It is cheaper because the conveinience of being at the airport when you get off the plane is not there... so just decide what you like. Alamo is almost always my favorite and always cheaper. Use Mousesavers.com for codes and discounts with all rental companies.... they really help and lower the prices. The best part about it is you can save your reservations and rebook if you get a cheaper price and just cancel the previous more expensive one. You are not required to have a credit card to hold a reservation with most rental car companies when you book online. Check rates as often as you can and put in codes where able to help you save. Place your email address on rental car companies so you can get discounts via email. I really hope this helps, I have become a semi-pro at this because I cant see spending more many than you have to. But you have to be willing to do the work... good luck and have a great time!

I booked with Enterprise for my trip in Oct. I think they are in the airport now. It says for pickup:PLEASE PROCEED TO THE RENTAL COUNTER LOCATED IN A & B SIDE TERMINALS ON THE GROUND TRANSPORTATION FLOOR. PLEASE FOLLOW THE AIRPORT SIGNS TO THE RENTAL CAR AREA. VEHICLES ARE LOCATED IN THE PARKING GARAGE NEXT TO THE MAIN TERMINAL AND ARE WITHIN WALKING DISTANCE.
