Anyone ever stayed at the Travelodge Maingate East???

Wondered if anyone has ever stayed here and what your honest thoughts are...good or bad! I'd rather know in advance and possibly book somewhere else than waste my money on somewhere thats dirty or worse

I've heard mixed reviews on this. I also know that it's coming up through Priceline as a 1* for $18 a night! That is a great deal for just a place to sleep in between park touring.

We stayed here in May 2001. Our personal experience was perfectly fine. The room was clean enough -- no major issues like wierd smells or anything just slightly on the worn side. It was quiet and we had a little balcony to sit out at. They had a decent breakfast buffet in the mornings with a good variety of food such as pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage, etc. plus cereal, bagels, and yogurt. There was a good sized food court that we never ate at but it looked nice in the area where the breakfast is. The pool was just a plain looking pool that we didn't use but it did look clean. We actually won a raffle and got our stay for free so it was just fine for us. If we were paying the 65.00 rack rate, I wouldn't be happy with it because you can get much nicer for that price but if you are talking about 20.00 with the free breakfast it is worth that. That being said, I have read some bad reviews of the place. You may want to try a search for some of the earlier posts. I can only comment on my experience . Hope you have a great trip.
