Grand Floridian concierge on points?

my other half and I are getting married Halloween 2007 and have decided to treat ourselves to an all out delayed honeymoon... we will stay 2 nights at the GF before a 3 day cruise on the Disney Wonder and then 5 nights at our home - SSR ... mid December.

after some research, we booked the cruise cash because the points ratio seemed extremely high... however, I think that GF concierge will be worth every point!

so anyone ever been? I know the rooms are in the main building...do they have balconies? any and all tidbits desperately needed!

We got back a few days ago from a trip to the GF concierge, although not on points. We had a wonderful trip and the GF was as beautiful as always. We previously stayed on the 4th floor of the main building (right above Gasparillas with an excellent castle view), have stayed in the Sugar Loaf concierge which is not in the main building, but this time we booked the Honeymoon concierge rooms with one king size bed. The rooms we have stayed in have all had balconies, although they are fairly small and shared with other rooms (with a divider). You also get to use those great GF robes during your stay!

I think most of the honeymoon rooms are on the second floor, also above Gasparillas. They had a separate elevator to get to them which was a little more secluded and private, although it wasn’t as convenient to get to the 4th floor concierge area where the offerings are served. It was also a bit of a pain in that to get to the monorail, you had to take the elevator up to the 3rd floor, walk down the hall and take the elevator back down to the 2nd floor to the monorail area of the main building. If I had to do it again, I probably would go for the regular concierge rooms on the 4th floor for the ease of getting to the offerings, monorail, and higher views (the noise from Gasparillas was a little loud from the second floor late at night and it is open 24 hrs.)

Have you considered using your points to stay in a one bedroom instead? We had a great stay at the GF, but think we would have been just as happy and felt just as relaxed in a 1 bedroom at a DVC resort, and you would spend less points. That is just a thought.

Have a great trip and congratulations!
