I stayed, for the first time, at the Cabins during Labour day weekend last year. I LOVED the experience. My dad, stepmom and I took the bedroom (dad and I slept in the bunk beds LOL!!) and my grandparents took the murphy bed which they said was comfortable. It has everything for six people (silverwear, dishes). A full kitchen and a HUGE bathroom.
There's a TV in the bedroom and one in the living room with a DVD player. Most of the furnishings are very rustic and made out of wood. And the cabins have a lovely wooden smell inside of them. They all have A/C. Outside there is a porch with a pick-nick table and even a grill.
Transportation: You have an Internal bus system that gets you from the Outpost (Where reception is), past all of the sites, to the Meadow Post (Where the main pool with water slide is, also where they do the backyard BBQ and most of the kids games) and on to the Settlement Post (Where there are two restaurants, shop and the marina.)
To travel INSIDE the Wilderness we always rent a golf cart. Usually, you can leave its battery charging at the Settlement Post if you are going to take one of the boats to Fort Wilderness Lodge (I recommend doing that, I love that little trip), Contemporary or Magic Kingdom.
To get to all parks, EXCEPT Magic Kingdom. Take a bus out to the Outpost and then transfer to another bus that takes you to whatever park you want. To the MK, just use the Marina.
Have fun!!
