I'll be switching from a studio at AKV to a 2 bdrm at AKV. Does anyone know how that works? Do we officially checkout and then checkin again, or will they just come to our room, get the luggage and move it to the new room? I'm trying to decide how much time to allow for the switch.

Yes, I believe you would have to check out and check in- at least that's how it works for all the hotels.

if you have your bags ready in the morning... and goto the front desk... and let them know the situation that you are moving bags from one room to another, and let the bell man know... there is a possibility that your bags can be moved.

We have done this. Yes, you need to re check in becuase it is a different room category. I suppose you could ask the bell services to pick up your luggage and hold it until your new room is ready. Once you are in your new room, they could deliver it.

I stayed at AKL for 13 nights and the package would only book up to 10, so I had a reservation for 10 nights and a reservation for 3. I had to go to the desk and re check in again but they let me keep the same room. I got the bill under my door on the 10 night.

We are on a convention rate at Poly for 5 nights then at AAA rate for the next 4 nights. What do you think the chances are of us keeping the same room? Both are for a garden view...
