Anyone ever "Sneak" Into SAB?

We've always needed to get a wristband to get towels. I must admit that I've been tempted to sneak in on days when we have ADR's at Cape May Cafe for dinner.

I bought at BCV to stay there and use the pool. I pay the "more points than some other places" to stay there and to use the pool. I expect the pools to be monitored.

My husband gets very upset whenever we go to Yachtsmen looking at the pool. He really wants to stay there, but we tend to maximize our points by staying at OKW instead. I can't imagine trying to pull off a 10 night stay in a 1 bedroom for 10 days there like we do at OKW.

Sometimes I wish pool hopping was allowed on certain days. But, part of me thinks that I should just book a 3 night stay or something if there is ever a passholder's discount so that he can "finally swim in the giant pool".

I have never been to SAB in all the years owning DVC!!! However, my teen daughter and her girlfriend snuck in while we were staying at BWV!!! The lifeguard (cute boy by girl standards) did not question them at all!!! Heck, if I were that cute too, maybe I could sneak in!! LOL!!

We were there for a week last August and found the CMs rarely checked for IDs per person. Every day we would show up and hubby would pull out his ID and whenever I went to get mine, they would wave me on and put the wristband on. This happened often and the same for my daughter and her family.

Wouldn't be more fun to sneak over at like 3 am, hop the fence and skinny-dip? All that moving water, the thrill, the heart pounding, the adrenalene rush.....

Now, if we were staying there, does that make it okay? I mean no one saw us as far as I know....

When we ate at Cape May there was no one at the open entrance and no one checking, so anyone would have been able to hop right on in...

Here's a question for you: how about early mornings? Are they crowded? What time does the pool open up? I'm going to be at BWV in early June and I have a triathlon a few weekends later. I'd love to head over to SAB and swim agains the current for 45 or so minutes. Possible?

Here is an easier option for you - the Swan has a lap pool. Good luck on the Tri!

It is a nice pool but I don't understand what the big deal is about it. Of course, different strokes for different folks.

The time we stayed at BCV we went swimming there and no one asked us for our room cards or gave us a bracelet but that was about 2 years ago so maybe they changed they have been checking since then.

My 2 cents is it should be open to all DVC members but since it is not, I would respect the rules.

The Orlando Sentinel just reported that Disney is installing finger scanners and turnstiles at the Storm-a-long pool entrances. All Guests at the YC, BC, and BCV have to register their finger scan upon checking into their rooms.

The reporter goes on to say that according to a Disney source, "recent postings on a popular internet forum has brought this problem to our attention. We feel that this change in policy is necessary due to anticipated heavy attendance during the upcoming busy pool season at our most popular resort pool".

I have been to SaB at least twice. I think the first time was in 99, before the rule of no pool hopping, the next time we stayed at BCV. The pool is nice, but not enough to travel to BCV just to swim. I would rather go to a water park.

About Pool crashers, how about crashing crashers? At Vero Beach, many save those chairs with towels but never really use the chair. They can go hours untouched. Then, after nearly everyone leaves, towels are left on the chairs. The lazy __________. Next trip I am not going to ask for a towel. I am going to plot myself on one of those pool side chairs with an unused towel. I will arrive early just to see who leaves a towel on the chair and goes back to their room to gather the family and arrive hours later to find me on thier saved chair. Anyone want to join me.

It's just a pool. It's a cement hole filled with water. It's a nice cement hole, with some sand, but it's still just a pool.

Heck, there have been times when I was staying at YC/BC/BCV that I couldn't be bothered to get down there. I've always found their security adequate--it seemed tight the few times I've been there.

I wish I could say the same about WL. People don't even bother "sneaking" anymore--they just pile on the FW boat with their suits on and towels in hand. That pool is not big enough for the influx.

This is really funny! You had me there for a moment! So whats the worse that could happen if one did get caught? Other than making you leave, doesn't sound like enough of a deterrent to me. I prefer the scary clown pools myself.

I dunno. I've toured the pool many times after a Cape May breakfast. Rolling along on my powerchair, doused in sunscreen with sunglasses. No one's ever looked cross-eyed at me. It seemed pretty easy to just dip your toe in.

But I'd much rather go to the Poly and dry off watching fireworks on the beach.

When we stayed at the BWV's in October of 06 we made three trips over. Our daughter loved the pool, it was not very crowded, and no one checked or seemed to care.

We've been checked for ID, and we were guests there. The funny thing was we were just walking around admiring the pool, taking pictures, not in our swimsuits. So why the attendent would check us out is beyond me!
