My DS12 wanted to upgrade his Runescape account. He has his own money, so I said fine. He gave me the money, so instead of paying $5/month, he just wanted to pay the $65/year. We used the link to PayPal to pay. This was last Monday, May 12th. The funds cleared from my bank account the very next day, the 13th.
Runescape has not acknowledged DS as a member. Paypal says the funds are uncleared. I e-mailed paypal, and got Cristi to say it can take up to 11 business days if there is a problem transferring the funds. No explanation as to WHAT may be the problem. I e-mailed her again to remind her the funds have cleared on my end...and this is what I got back. I feel like I am dealing with a robot. (Maybe there is no "Cristi", and it is a computer doing the replying.)
E-mail response from PP:
PayPal's eCheck feature allows you to conveniently make transfers from
your bank account to the receiver. Your bank account will be debited
when you initiate the eCheck and your recipient will typically receive
the funds 4 business days later, when the transfer clears. However, the
transfer could be delayed at some point and in that case, the
transaction could take up to eleven business days to complete.
To see whether or not an eCheck payment has cleared, please follow these
steps, log in to your account and click the "History" tab. Locate the
transaction and find the status column. The status will be one of the
following:
· Cleared: The transfer has been made and the funds are now
available
· canceled: The transaction has been canceled. If you cancel an
eCheck the funds will be withdrawn from your bank account and posted to
your PayPal account balance
· Uncleared: The transaction is still in transit from the bank and
has not cleared yet. To view the Expected Clearing Date, click "Details"
of the transaction

Hi Cristy,
The funds cleared from my checking account on May ##th, the day after I
sent the money. Why is the status still uncleared if it has cleared from
my bank account five days ago?
Thank you for your help in this matter

Dear Marie,
Thank you for taking the time to contact PayPal.
Hi, my name Cristy, I am certainly happy to assist you today. You emailed us regarding the uncleared payment you sent. I am more
than willing to assist you with your concern. Let me just review your account further.
Marie, as I have checked on this transaction, I can see that the
clearing date should be on the ##th. However is still has the status
if uncleared. Please take note that if the transfer is delayed at some point during the processing of the electronic transfer, the transaction
could take up to eleven business days to complete.
We appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter, and wish you continued success on PayPal. Should you have other questions,
please feel free to contact us again.
Sincerely,
Cristy

This really stinks. The poor kid has been waiting to play since last week, and now he have to wait another week? In the meantime, $65 is gone from my checking account.
