Anyone ever had a rectangular pizza?

Growing up round was the shape of the thin crusted pizza and the rectangular ones were known as Sicilian and had the much thicker crust. One cousin preferred the Sicilian so we had it every year for his birthday. I don't recall thinner crust rectangular ones in my area.

I know I recently read about a place that makes a giant rectangular pizza. I think it got cut into 100 pieces. But for the life of me I can't remember the name of the place or which state it was in. Their website had pictures of it and it was impressive!

The Family Size pizza at Naples in Downtown Disney (in Anaheim) is like this. Bring a crowd though, that sucker is HUGE. They also have two serving pizzas like this in the take and bake section of all places, Walmart. They’re actually quite good. When I order thin crust pizza they cut a round pizza into rectangles.

Forgot about that one. I remember being there once joining my cousin's family (we were late and they were mostly done). They had so much of it that we didn't have to order anything. I looked it up and it's called the "1/2 Meter".

From the look of it, that must be 1 meter x 2 meters.

Yeah its called a sheet/tray pizza.
Its generally cut into squares though not rectangle pieces.
There is a place around here that does cut their round pizza into rectangles which ticks us off since then you have tiny triangle pieces that have nothing on them.

When I was a kid, back in the dark ages, Chef Boyardee had a pizza mix cooked on a cookie sheet. It was great. I still remember the taste. It used Pizza sauce not marinara sauce. Pizza sauce had it's own distinct taste. I have never found one like that since those days.

I grew up in Toledo at worked at Rosie’s and our mediums and larges were rectangular

They talked us into it our first time there. Two adults, two teens, two kids. There was so. much. pizza. Made for quick snacks/lunches during afternoon breaks. We love their pizza, salads and pasta. We’ll be having dinner there next week, can’t wait!

We had one at Via Napoli in the Italian pavilion in EPCOT in January. Great pizza! Disney Fanatics rates it #1 in WDW.

We have Little Italy pizza in our town. Authentic Sicilian rectangular shaped pizza. Very good.

Same here. I was like,"Wait, you mean there are people who have never had rectangular pizza?"

Not exactly common, but I wouldn't say unheard of. All I really remember from my youth is this one place.

There is this one local place that has what they call a "New York style" Neapolitan pizza. They place it on a round pan but stretch it out like a square with rounded corners. Slices look more like triangles like in this photo:

I've seen them hand toss the dough, but then stretch it out on the pan to get that square shape. I thought the primary reason for a round shape was a more even bake as well as a more even stretching of the dough.

I grew up in ny. You can either get the round pizza pie which is thin crust, or the Sicilian which is the rectangular thicker crust pizza.
