We just joined EA and are going to WDW end of November. We've reserved a full-size car, but just curious if anyones ever seen a PT cruiser or convertable on the Aisle??

Also, what type of full-size cars does National have???:smooth: :p

We saw PT Cruisers both times we were there last year--in Sept and January. My husband was tempted, but with all the golf equipment, we decided on an SUV each time!

The EA is great! My DH could not believe how easy it was. Good luck!

We'll also be there the end of November. Can't Wait!!:) :) :)

last friday the 3rd of aug we used EA and got a PT cruiser. there wasn't much to choose from to be honest. this was in MCO. they only had about 7 vehicles total in the EA aisle. 4 mustangs, 1 pt cruiser, and the other 2 were Impalas or something of that size. and with the exception of the PT they were all white cars too.

Aug 2 (11:00p) I got a convertible from the aisle. The attendent said the manager said no SUV or convertible unless you reserved one. I told the attendant I got the car from EA and there was an SUV there and they should move it from the aisle. I asked to speak to the manager. He spoke to someone on the phone and let me keep the convertible. In the past I was only able to get the full-sized car I reserved (the aisle was still a pleasure). I suspect the people who get the extra upgrades are the ones who post, counting on an upgrade may set you up for a dissapointment.

Thanks all! Can't wait, it's like Christmas, waiting to see what's under the tree. Although, I'll be happy with anything that gets me throught the airport and to Riverside fast.....:pinkbounc :pinkbounc :pinkbounc

beverly lynn what did you think about the PT cruiser....

how was the "luggage" space...

My hubby owns a PT cruiser. We just returned from a 4 day road trip to PA and had the car loaded! Suitcase (large), 2 strollers (one had to fit between kids car seats in back), duffle bag, cooler (collapsible), lots of kid stuff, grocery bags, etc. It can hold a lot. It would also depend on how many people were traveling with you. You can put one side of the back seat down flat, or folded up against front seats. There is also a tray that acts as a privacy screen, or if you need the room you can lay that flat too.

By the way, who is EA that is renting them? We are going down in December and I might like to rent one since I can't drive his!!!!! I do all the driving when we're there anyway and it is such a cool car.

I liked the way the room for sitting in the pt was. the gas mileage was excellent. but the trunk room is small. if I had had my stroller on top of everything else there would have been no room at all. we had a large 26" suitcase and a small 22" one. and my backpack. that pretty much filled the small space up. the seats in the back do go down so that you may extend the trunk room. I can now say I drove one. personally I would not want to buy one now. but it was fun to drive. once again the gas mileage was excellent and the pick up and go was great too.

You said Mustanges? I didn't know they had any, Very excited to read this! Always wanted to drive one, maybe I 'll get my chance! MKY

We got a PT Cruiser off EA last December. Since there were just two of us, there was plenty of room. The one we got was black, limited edition. Hoping for a convertible this year. ::fingers crossed::

Dec 2000 we picked a red Mitsubishi Spyder Eclipse convertible from the EA. Very nice! Luckily there was only 2 of us. Once DH saw it, he insisted on taking it. We HAD to fit the luggage in it. No convincing him otherwise. (I wanted to take the SUV.) 2 large suitcases ended up in backseat of the 2 door car (had trouble seeing out of back window) -- carryon, camera bag & backpack went in the trunk. Stopped for 1 bag of groceries which also went in trunk.

Unusually cold that month, but the first day that hit 70 degrees, he had that top down! He was SO excited! Men & their toys! LOL

yes mustangs. the only reason I remember this is because the kid that was with these peole was hollering look dad a mustang!

So, let me get this right, I have a full-size car reserved through EA, and when I get there, I can pick anything I want that is on the aisle?? Even a minivan or SUV? I'm not clear how this works.

... so how does Natl. get away with putting them on the EA where the minimum purchase is a full-size? Are they somehow classing them as sports cars? That strikes me as a little odd, given that a PTC is really only a hatchback Neon with swoopy body detailing; they've got no pickup or handling to speak of.

I eI sent two emails yesterday to National. The first, to Customer Service, responded that the PT Cruiser is considered a "specialty" car, and could not be reserved ahead of time. When you check in you can see if one is available and the price would be set then. The second email was to Emerald Club and they told me that National does not carry PT Cruisers at all! I emailed her back to tell her that DIS users have been renting them in Orlando. I haven't heard back from her.
