anyone ever flown to daytona?

we're flying manchester, nh to cincinatti to daytona then driving to orlando in feb...has anyone ever flown into daytona? is it a decent airport (clean, etc)...also has anyone ever flown comair? is it a decent airline (on time, friendly, how's the baggage situation)?

I flew into Daytona once many years ago and don't remember anything terrible about it. Heck, it's not like Orlando's airport is the garden spot of the world or anything. In the American terminal at Orlando there's no rest room down by the gates (under construction), no water fountains down by the gates and nowhere to buy a bottle of water.

Comair is a regional carrier, but flies an all-jet fleet. They are "Regional Jets," which means they're smaller (40-70 passengers, depending on the configuration) than what you may be used to on the major carriers. They're sleek and fast, however, if a bit crowded. For more details on their planes, look here:

The baggage situation on an RJ is a bit different too. There's not room in the overhead bins or under the seats for larger carry-on bags that do fit on full-size aircraft, so you'll have to check those at the gate. You can pick them up as you deplane (and take them to your next gate when you connect, or take them with you at the end of your trip). You may want to reconsider larger carry-ons if dragging them around while you make your connection will be a hassle.

thank u so much...when u say large carry on are u talking about those rolling suitcases or are backpacks included in that description as well?

Most backpacks will be OK. It's the rolling suitcases, hanging bags, etc. that are a problem.
