I never really thought about trying this, but I guess it never hurts to ask??

um, everyone on the bus wants their resort to be the 1st. there are 2 or 3 resorts it is stopping at. no one is more special than anyone else. it's just sheer luck.

if it is necessary for the ride to be as short as possible, there are taxis waiting. ME is a free service. IMHO, it would be rude to ask.

Got to agree with the PP's that this wouldn't be in the best Disney spirit.

I'm not going to get into the whole 'rude' issue, but in reality?? The driver has a route he is supposed to follow. So no, the guest doesn't get to make a request to be the first stop. There is a reason the stops are set up the way they are.
If you want personalized service, you may be better off using a towncar service.

Do Magical Express buses back to the airport always stop on the A side first?

Then, after making the B side dropoff they are best positioned to go (the other half of the way down the curbside roadway) to the welcoming area loading platform for the next Disney bound trip.

Or, regarding the Disney bound trip, should we reword the title question, "Have you observed the trip to be unnecessarily circuitious due to a non-optimum order of stops??

What?????:confused3

Personally, I have no problem asking, in a very passive way, for a room upgrade when I check in or making pre-arrival room requests. Why not just throw it out there as a suggestion. Just because you don't think it's never been done doesn't mean it hasn't been asked and maybe the driver complied. Who knows til ya try!!!! You hear of small town guys and girls asking celebrities to prom all the time. Do they normally go? No. But sometimes they do!
Nothing ventured, nothing gained. If you can dream it, you can do it! (Now where have I heard that before???) :woohoo:

Good thing I posted as it never dawned on me as being rude. I considered it the same as a simple request like a table by the window in a restaurant, a room on an upper floor or asking to ride in front of the monorail. When you ask sometimes they can say yes, sometimes no. I always say thanks either way. I had heard that the drivers choose their own order of stops and we have always been third.. Just hoping to make some pixie dust.

They do chose their own routes, but they don't base it on what sounds good at the time; They base it on what is going to be most efficient.

I don't think it is the same thing as asking for a good table or room at all. Asking for them to do a different route in order to put you first would also put out a lot of other guests. I don't think any of them would be happy if the driver did rearrange things to place your wishes above other guests, over what is normally done. What would make pixie dust for you would be a nasty bit on the part of all of the other bus riders.

Do not make me slap you up-side the head!!!!!

The bus driver knows the most efficient route to the resorts....period. It is completely out of line to ask for preferential treatment by asking to be the first stop. It is vastly different than asking for a specific table or a room upgrade. You would be asking the bus driver to change the route which could very well mean that other guests would spend a lot more time on the bus. It really isn't a case of being pixie dusted or getting a bit more magic....it's a case of pitting your wishes before others. Everyone wants to be the first stop....but that can't happen.

Well, maybe if they asked... :lmao: I keed, I keed.

@TammyC... don't bother asking to ride in the front of the monorails (at least at WDW). The answer is 'no' and has been for a number of years now.

Actually did the monorail thing a number of years back. I would have never thought to make such a request but read some advice here on the boards to just ask.

So I learned that it never hurts to ask nicely. I really would not want do wrong to others and figured that about one third of the bus would get pixie dusted by also getting off first if the route was reversed. Really do appreciate reading other points of view, and I will not ask.

Tammy C they used to allow people to ride in the front of the monorail until several years ago when there was an accident.

There was a monorail accident in July of 2009 and the driver was killed. Since then, they have not allowed anyone to ride in the front.

So originally you were going to get dropped off last but you ask and the route is reversed and now you get off first pixiedust:, now the other 2/3s of the bus get, what's the opposite of Pixie Dust, Grumpy Gravel. :goodvibes

Disney is not going to, in all but a few odd cases*, give you pixie dust at the expense of others. Its not like asking for a room upgrade because they only give you a room that would be empty anyway, they don't give you someone else's room.

* I was once with a band group wearing matching shirts and my small group was in line for RnRC. Another group of our people were about 10 people behind us and the CM moved up the other group to be with us. So yes this CM gave a little Grumpy Gravel to those 10 people.
