Anyone ever ask ME driver to be first stop?

Grumpy Gravel

:rotfl2:
As for the whole "pixie dust" idea, isn't the entire point that it is random, spontaneous and unexpected? How does asking for something one is not entitled to equate to "pixie dust"?
We just enjoy the ride I guess. When I've got a whole week of vacation ahead of me, another 30 minutes or so on ME doesn't bug me.

There is no way I would even try to ask that unless I want the other passengers who are going to the resort that will now be last, to toss me off the bus.

Shows what I know---I thought the first post was a joke!!

I mean, I want to get where I need to go first. All these other people can wait. After all, this is MY vacation. I can't even imagine feeling that entitled!

This isn't like asking for a particular table in a restaurant. It's more like going to the CM at Toy Story Mania and asking if you can go to the front of the line instead of waiting the 2 hours with everyone else! Never hurts to ask, right?

Hey, I thought it was a joke too. No way would I think someone would have the nerve to ask the DME driver to reverse his route just so they could be the first off the bus. Talk about entitled and rude! 'Yeah, I want off first, so just screw the rest of these people who would have been first. I'm more important!':rotfl: Don't you know the bus driver would have a riot on his hands from the people that would have be the first stop, now suddenly they are the last stop due to some prima dona who thinks the world should cater to them. lol

I wouldn't think of this request as "rude"; however, I WOULD think it naïve.

I assume that the driver knows where the bus needs to go and the route that makes the most sense for the sake of efficiency--both for time and energy expenditures.

Let's say the DME bus has stops at Pop, CSR, and then AKL. You think someone would just be naive to ask the bus driver to bypass Pop and CSR and take them straight to AKL, then the bus could just backtrack back to CSR then Pop to let everyone else off. Meaning that the people getting off at Pop would go from being the first stop to the last stop, just so some entitled prima dona gets to her destination first. Yeah, I guess her time is more valuable than anyone else's. That's not someone being naive, that's someone being entitled and very rude.

I used the Pop, CSR, AKL route, because I have actually been on that route several times, both when I was staying at AKL and CSR. I wouldn't have even thought about asking the bus driver to change the route around so that I could I have been the first stop.

I agree with naive. I don't remember, do you (when you get on the bus) know which resorts the bus will be stopping at?

Actually did the monorail thing a number of years back. I would have never thought to make such a request but read some advice here on the boards to just ask.

So I learned that it never hurts to ask nicely. I really would not want do wrong to others and figured that about one third of the bus would get pixie dusted by also getting off first if the route was reversed. Really do appreciate reading other points of view, and I will not ask.

And what about the people that were supposed to be first but are now last?

So if I take a whole bunch of people from the end of the Toy Story Mania line and we all jump up front to the beginning of the line, cutting in front of everyone who's been waiting, I'm not being rude? I'm just "pixie dusting" all those poor people who were at the end with a long wait ahead of them?

In order to answer this question properly, I would need to know if I would be standing in the beginning, end or middle of the line. :rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:

* I was once with a band group wearing matching shorts and my small group was in line for RnRC. Another group of our people were about 10 people behind us and the CM moved up the other group to be with us. So yes this CM gave a little Grumpy Gravel to those 10 people.

really? wow I can't believe this. we have all compalined about when tour groups cut in line to be with some of the rest of their tour group (instead of the ones in front going back of theywant to ride together).
and we've debated whether to say soemthign or do something or not.

and have all expressed displeasure at the CMAS for not doing anything.

but the CM initiating the cutting in line? I would tell the CM to allow me and the other 9 people to go in front of the entire tour group now

Just to be clear neither my group or the group behind asked for this to happen. In fact my group was mostly younger kids and the group behind was older and too cool for school types and normally wouldn't even give our group the time of day.

But I think its happened many times that a CM will move a group up a line for any number of Pixie Dust reasons.

yes, I gathered from your post that your group didn't ask for it.. but thanks for clarifying.

but I still say it was "grumpy gravel" to those 10 people.
(ps love our new "term"! :rotfl:)

1. I just didn't want this thread to take even a worse turn. It was the end of Feb after Presidents week and before spring break so it was a dead time. Standby was probably 15 minutes.

2. Our new term :confused3 I'm still discussing copyright issues with my lawyer. I'll keep the group posted. ;)

I agree with naive. I don't remember, do you (when you get on the bus) know which resorts the bus will be stopping at?

Maybe I just go to WDW too much. I have never stayed at AKL that it wasn't the last bus stop. I have never stayed at POFQ that it wasn't the second or third stop and I have never stayed at CSR that it wasn't the second stop, so yes I do remember.:rotfl:

Sorry, I didn't explain my question well. I get that you know that because you go to WDW so much. But for someone not familiar with the route (or even the layout of the resorts), is there any clue in the DME area (or on the bus) that would tell guests what the "normal" route would be?

No.

The driver usually announces it.
