So I am waiting and waiting for the MNSSHP tickets to go on-sale.

We went 2 years ago and paid just under 300 for 4 of us.. I believe last years ticket prices were between 70-80. Correct me if I am wrong.

These tickets got you park entrance from 7pm to midmight. And you DID NOT need an additional park ticket to get in. Plus you could get in at 4pm.. IMO a good deal to avoid paying more for full day, but you have at least a half a day.

So now when I see that people are paying 69.00 I believe for this early morning package deal. that give you only 1 hr 15 extra time plus breakfast AND you still need to have a normal ticket, I am getting worried.

If Disney sees people are paying this add-on. Which IMO is worthless, crap, people being pulled under the table etc...Then some one is going to be smart and say let's totally jack party prices up.. OR make is a requirement to have a park ticket.

what do you guys think??

And one more thing.. wasnt the Halloween party normally on sale by now?? If so, maybe they are waiting to see how people are willing to pay a 69 add-on. and then decide a new concept???

Yes, I'm worried too. This is our 2nd Disney visit, and we wanted to do MNSSHP for the 1st time. Thought the $68 price was great, but after all these other extra money things, I am worried that the price will jump quite a bit and will price us out of it. I'm sure it will probably go up in price, just hopefully not too much!

The price doesn't concern me nearly as much as how oversold the parties have become. I would gladly pay more if they cut the crowds in half.

What do you think are the odds of that happening?

I'm concerned. If prices go up stupid, we won't go. It's got my planning in a tizzy. I have a contingency though.

I'm not "worried" because I'm not a party-goer, but I don't see how they'd NOT increase prices significantly.

I don't personally find value in the prices of the morning or evening Extra Money Magic hours, but their prices make sense in relation to each other. Morning is cheaper but less time, includes a meal, but requires regular park admission. Evening is more total hours, more attractions, some treats and over twice the price.

Last year's party prices of $70ish with a 3 hour grace period, 5 party hours, trick-or-treating, exclusive characters, special parade and special fireworks just don't add up in comparison. I know the other events have the Exclusivity factor, which we can't yet evaluate AND hopefully the Money Magic Hours and parties won't happen at the same time of year, but still. . .

I'm not really concerned since I think they sell a great deal more party tickets than they do "faux EMH" tickets, and therefore the price point will (well, should) be lower.

I agree that I would pay 2-3x last year's price if they sold half as many tickets, but we all know that's not going to happen.

And one more thing.. wasnt the Halloween party normally on sale by now?? If so, maybe they are waiting to see how people are willing to pay a 69 add-on. and then decide a new concept???
Tickets always go on sale in May.

Of course the math would never work this perfectly, but if they cut the crowd exactly in half and exactly doubled the price, do you think they'd do it? Are half as many highly satisfied customers bringing in equal party revenue better or worse for Disney than twice as many guests getting a bite at the Party apple, even though the experience is diminished by crowds level?

IMO, Disney is trying to find the balance between the price of their product and its demand. Crowds have not seemed to cut into demand at all, so I would say that the chances are somewhere between zip and zilch.

We went in Sept 2008 and I think we paid about $35 for them. I can't imagine paying twice as much now (or more as will likely be), esp with word that they are so much more crowded. We loved it, but I guess it was a one-time only thing for us.

Same with the Illuminations Cruises. We paid $125 plus tips for our boat way back. Now it's three times that much. The experience hasn't changed much, but those prices have.

I definitely think they will raise the price substantially for the parties this year. So far they've announced the dates to both Halloween and Christmas parties--but no prices. This time last year the tickets were on sale already. I think they are waiting for the perfect time to announce the increase, so that the news will mostly fly under the radar. Maybe on June 16 when Shanghai Disneyland opens?

I predicted it back when they announced the early and late ticket things. I said that they're likely waiting to see how the added time events sell before setting party prices and that I thought parties would go up by 50 to 100%. I personally have no stake in it as we've done one party and probably won't do another, but I still think the price is likely to jump significantly.

Can't say that I haven't thought about this happening. I guess only time will tell. I think the parties are great and worth the extra money. I just don't know where the breaking point would be price-wise. It might make me consider only doing a party and not getting a park ticket the day of the party. Last year we went to DHS during the day and hopped over for the Xmas party later on (DHS was closing early for a CM special event with the Osborne Lights so the park was relatively quiet, huge plus). If the price increase (if there is one) is equivalent to that additional park day one way to make it work would be to cut out that ticket and just do the party. I'm a fan of the parties, though, and find a great value in them, overall. I was even considering a quick trip in the fall to do just MNSSHP. Maybe get to the park at 4pm but maybe make a late lunch reservation at one of the monorail hotels beforehand.... Just dreamin'...

I honestly don't think the price increase will be more than a few dollars. There are parties 4 out of 7 days of the week in the fall and they sell many more party tickets than they will be selling tickets to these early morning/late night events. They depend on selling a lot of tickets (hence why they are 4 out of 7 days of the week) and when they are "less exclusive" they can price them cheaper and still make money. They've also seen an increase in the number of people coming to the parks in September and October because they want to experience the party...so they won't risk people deciding they will not go or go another time.

It's going to happen. I expect over $100 per ticket. Maybe waiting to announce for the official ROL re-release.

Oh good , I wasn't sure... was getting worried they were holding off and maybe making some changes ( dates) as we have our date fixed in planning now.

Last year dates were announced in February and tickets went on sale late March. This year is definitely much later!

I went to the xmas party last year and after I got home I received an email survey from Disney. One of the questions I remember it asking was if I went to the park during the day on the same day as the party. I'm wondering if they are going to tier prices to the party for different entry times?
