Anyone else worried about MAJOR increase in party tickets price?

but if they cut the crowd exactly in half and exactly doubled the price, do you think they'd do it? Are half as many highly satisfied customers bringing in equal party revenue better or worse

The other issue you aren't looking at - the admittance dollars may equal out but what about all the other items? Half as many people in the park means half the food purchased, and half the pictures purchased, and half the merchandise purchased. I would think this would add up to a fairly significant number over all the event days.

I'm worried about this too, with all the expensive "extras" they have come out with this year. This is the first year we've ever been planning a trip during the MVMCP, and it will be just my luck that they double the cost!

We have a lot of days left on NE tickets, but with the one day tickets getting so expensive, I'm trying to stretch those out as much as possible. I was thinking that the cost of party tickets isn't much more than what we effectively paid per day of our NE tickets, so it seemed like a good opportunity, since we wouldn't use another ticket that day. If they make the cost closer to what a one day ticket now costs, there won't be any incentive for us to go.

We've already budgeted 150 bucks a person. No I'm not worried. No I'm not going to stress. No I'm not going to whine. But if haunted mansion is closed I will raise heck!

Well, if you look at what Disney thinks an hour of MK time is worth by what they are charging for morning hour and after hours, it works out to $50 per hour. Since the party is 5 hours you get a price of $250 per person. That seems like a reasonable price target to me since it would reduce crowds a little bit, but still generate lots of revenue. It would alleviate guest complaints about over crowding and investor concerns about profits.

That makes me a bit nauseous!
I think they ARE figuring out what people will pay per hour, but they do have different kinds of hours, which need to be valued separately: exclusive hours (new magic times), semi-exclusive hours (parties and EMH) and public hours.

So I am waiting and waiting for the MNSSHP tickets to go on-sale.

We went 2 years ago and paid just under 300 for 4 of us.. I believe last years ticket prices were between 70-80. Correct me if I am wrong.

These tickets got you park entrance from 7pm to midmight. And you DID NOT need an additional park ticket to get in. Plus you could get in at 4pm.. IMO a good deal to avoid paying more for full day, but you have at least a half a day.

So now when I see that people are paying 69.00 I believe for this early morning package deal. that give you only 1 hr 15 extra time plus breakfast AND you still need to have a normal ticket, I am getting worried.

If Disney sees people are paying this add-on. Which IMO is worthless, crap, people being pulled under the table etc...Then some one is going to be smart and say let's totally jack party prices up.. OR make is a requirement to have a park ticket.

what do you guys think??

And one more thing.. wasnt the Halloween party normally on sale by now?? If so, maybe they are waiting to see how people are willing to pay a 69 add-on. and then decide a new concept???
I do expect there will be a significant increase in party cost this year, based on these new extra hours offerings. If the evening one especially will sell at $149 for less time and offerings than you get at the parties, then I don't see why any company wouldn't take that as an invitation to increase the party ticket which allows for longer time in the park, plus special parades/shows/characters.

I honestly don't think the price increase will be more than a few dollars. There are parties 4 out of 7 days of the week in the fall and they sell many more party tickets than they will be selling tickets to these early morning/late night events. They depend on selling a lot of tickets (hence why they are 4 out of 7 days of the week) and when they are "less exclusive" they can price them cheaper and still make money. They've also seen an increase in the number of people coming to the parks in September and October because they want to experience the party...so they won't risk people deciding they will not go or go another time.
I fully agree.
I do not think they're going to raise prices substantially. That being said, $100 is my absolute max.

I would be shocked if they don't go up just looking at the prices of the "early morning Magic" and the Late Night Magic. Also look at how many (all?) of the parties sell out and how quickly they sell out. They already added dates, but I also see they will increase price to maybe alleviate the crowd issue.

The price will(should) be under the price of a 1-day ticket to MK since you get in at 4:00 PM.
Obviously the holiday parties aren't as limited as these new 'events' but there is also a lot of extras they provide for them.

We attended the party last year and I can say I don't think I would do it again. We entered the park at 4 and had two fast passes before 6:30. Once the party started we trick or treated at a few spots which were pretty busy and then hurried to stake out a spot for the parade. After that we rode BTMR and headed out. We did very few rides that night and no characters as most of our time was in line for candy or waiting for the parade. We had a good time but I don't think it is worth paying over anything over $100 a ticket for if that is what is going to be.

For what it's worth, we did pretty much the exact same thing when we went to MNSSHP last year and also thought it wasn't really worth it. However, in December, we did MVMCP with a different technique. We went to Magic Kingdom that morning with regular tickets. We were able to do so many things because wait times were so low. We then had dinner reservations at 'Ohana for 4:45ish (right when the park was getting crowded between the day guests and the party guests. We came back to MK after dinner with our park tickets. Since we had ridden so many rides earlier in the day, we were able to really take advantage of some of the fun party stuff, see the parade and that sort of thing. We did the first parade and then headed to Fantasyland and Tomorrowland to take advantage of the shorter waits and watched the fireworks from Peoplemover without having to get off. We much preferred the Christmas party and are planning to try out the Halloween party next year with a similar strategy.

My bet is the prices will absolutely go up substantially.

I'm betting they almost double to $150 per person.

Maybe they will throw in a free mug or pin or something.

Hopefully there will be a slight reduction in the number they sell per night to ease the pain of that increase a bit.

We have never been but are hoping to go when we go to F&W in September. Also hoping they will again offer some sort of an AP or DVC discount as in past years. I expect some sort of price increase but I have my limit on what we will pay extra out-of-pocket for these parties. They get enough out of us for our DVC dues and AP's and money spent on our multiple trips per year. We were at F&W last year in Nov. and decided to pass on our 1st chance to go to the Christmas party because it was even higher priced. We have never been but everything I researched and people asked said that the MNSSHP was better than MVMCP for the cost. Even tho I really wanted to go I couldn't afford the extra $150 at the time that it would have cost us. I will be upset and will probably also NOT go to MNSSHP tho if they increase the prices more than 10% over last years prices. I love Disney and our DVC but I have limits on these price increases and what I will tolerate - if they go up more than 10% they will push me into boycotting it too. Nobody can convince me that this party would be worth $100 pp.

Last years prices according to the Everything MNSSHP thread were:
2015 Prices
Dates: Sept. 15, 18, 20, 22, 25, 27; Oct. 1
Advance Purchase Price (adults/children): $68 / $63
Day of Event Price (adults/children): $74 / $69
DVC/AP Prices: Adult: $63 + tax, Child: $58 + tax
Military Ticket Prices (adults/children): $47.60/$41.10

Then the prices went up for the October parties....another reason we're traveling in September.... But I will be sad if they jack up the prices by insanely greedy amounts.

We are planning our 1st MNSSHP for this September and have already budgeted for $100 per person but not sure we will do it if the prices increases to more than that. On our 1st trip (Dec. 2013) we did the MVMCP and loved it and I think we paid around $70 a ticket maybe a little less don't remember and we really want to try the MNSSHP but only if the price doesn't go over $100 each. I do expect them to increase but I just hope no more than $100.

But realistically an hour at MK is a lot cheaper than that. Especially if you are an AP holder or stay over 3 days, the cost per day/hour decreases.. 250 per person than for a family of four would actually equal about the same for almost a weeks vacation ( doing the very cheap way). For us paying 1000 is about 25% of the total cost of our 10 day trip.. BC plus tickets.
I think there is a breaking point... I mean we are upper middle class. and that is a lot to toss about. And it's just my opinion but money, at least mine cann be spent in riduculous amounts, but with some responsibility or logic. 1000 for my family for 5 hours is not that.

.. I know there are very wealthy where 1000 is like 100 for us, but my experience the super rich really don't do Disney as their main vacation spot anyways.

I too am anxiously awaiting the cost per ticket for the Christmas Parties. My current goal is to go to three parties this year. Hopefully if they do increase the cost, it wont be significant.

I would prefer to pay more if they cut the number of tickets sold. I remember going to this party growing up and you didn't have to wait in line to get candy, the character lines were manageable, and you could just walk right up to the parade and fireworks without having to stake out a spot. The past couple of years have been very crowded and I'm sure it will be even worse this year. But I'm sure a price increase of a few dollars is coming.
