Anyone else worried about MAJOR increase in party tickets price?

Why worry about something you have no control over nor has even happened yet?

With the new hard ticketed after hours event that has been scheduled costing $149 per ticket, she should worry, because there's a strong possibility that prices for the MVMCP and MNSSHP will go up significantly. Especially with the parties popularity in the past and the fact that the said new event has no special value other than getting 3 extra hours in the MK. Why worry about something she has no control over? Maybe she really wants to go, but is afraid she'll be priced out of the market.

I'm worried about this too, with all the expensive "extras" they have come out with this year. This is the first year we've ever been planning a trip during the MVMCP, and it will be just my luck that they double the cost!

Same for us. It's our first party and we are biting our nails a bit waiting for prices!

Wondering myself ...

- Morning Magic 3 rides and a meal $69 (plus park ticket)
- Evening Magic 3 hours and ice cream $149
- MNSSHP staying at $68 seems unrealistic now
- Rides and Candy PLUS parade, fireworks, special characters, dance parties....
- Yes, number of tickets sold will be quite the factor but
- Even at $100 you are talking a 50% increase

- 2015 Tickets went on sale April 8th, we've missed that.

- They've announced dates so why wait?
- Maybe wait to see how these magic hour events sell?
- Maybe see what price point guests will tolerate?

Used to do 2, considering 1 this year due to larger crowds last year, but all will depend on the final price - maybe none.

Excately this, I am the OP and we only decided to plan this trip once the dates for the parties were announced and the first date 02Sep fits our schedule.

We live overseas and this is still summer break. Our kids looove Halloween and this would be their only chance to really celebrate it. We have gone the past 4 yrs to WDW, 2 yrs ago we did the party as the first date was still early enough where we were still on break and loved it. Maybe since it was early it was not too crowded.. I recall splash mountain was walk-on the whole night.. Last year the first party date was after NOJ, so we were not able to go as school was in session back in europe.

This year we said let's take a break and wait until all the new construction is finished in a few years.. Then we saw that this year the party starts super early again, and decided what the heck, let's go again with the MNSSHP being the main factor that threw us over that edge again to come..

So we booked 9 nights.. We dont do hoppers so the party night was our "hopper day" using park tix elsewhere and then MK with party ticket at 4pm.

Seeing that the entire trip in itself if enough "magic" "disney". I mean how many kids go almost every year from Europe and spend 2 weeks in Florida, most of which is Disney at either a mod or deluxe and every day parks?? At some point regardless of income etc... you come to a point where you say ok enough is enough.. We had ballpark budgeted the cost from 2 years ago.. Of course it will be somewhat higher.. We could "afford" some insane amount.. But even my kids if I told them I am paying ex. 150 or so for you guys to do this, would look at me like I am crazy. Even they ( thank God) see the value of a dollar.

regardless we will wait and see. Worst case we dont go and the kids will understand. At least we get a trip out if it!

And keep in mind those prices above are ON TOP of having to have a park ticket.. the Partys were also the park ticket.

The morning event requires park ticket on top, but the evening one is it's own separate admission, like the parties, including the grace period of entry a few hours before official event time.

While I expect a higher price this year over the normal year-to-year increase, I really can't see Disney doubling the price due to the bad press it would generate.

However, I wouldn't be surprised if the 4PM entry time is pushed out to be later.

No. We're going in December and I don't share this fear at all.

I think linking party tickets to the new night time/morning time paid extras is quite a leap.

I've said this on so many threads--- I don't understand why people are freaking out so much about the options, if you don't want to go to either one, then don't pay. It's that simple.
A party is different. It's priced so that you can add it on top of a regular ticket- I don't see where the decision would make sense to change that.

I don't think it will happen. But let's say it does.. Is worrying about it now going to change the outcome?
From a purely business standpoint - how/why would it make sense to double the price? This is something different than morning or nighttime hours.
I admit, I'm anxiously waiting for DCL prices to be released in the next day or 2..I've chosen my itinerary and just have to wait. If said itinerary is priced higher than I'm willing to pay, I won't book it. But I can't freak out about it- solves nothing..and I don't need a new wrinkle on my face.. ;) But, Haloween or Christmas parties? I don't see the grounds for worry.

my guess is a 10 - 15% increase over last years party tickets for standard tickets

wouldn't be surprised to see an 'enhanced' party ticket be sold, with some bells & whistles for a $50 surcharge

or

a $199 ticket that includes a character meal & priority parade/show viewing spot (similiar to what DL offered last year - dinner @ Blue Bayou with entertainment , that is akin the Villans thing @ MGM)

I did an entire analysis on the mnsshp thread that was ignored when I brought this up. A 25% increase which would be even to the most increase ever (2007-2008) would out a non discounted, non premium adult price at $92. That is the most likely price IMO. $90 is the cutting point for me to bother going on Sept 2.

I could see that - pushing it with as high a jump as they could try without breaking any records. Although, wasn't the adult advance purchase price $68? 25% increase isn't $92, but I get your point. It also makes a bit of sense in relation to the $149 exclusive hours event. Even though the party has additional unique offerings, I think the exclusivity has to be the most valuable/expensive add-on.

They have done that before. (In 2014? 2015? Or both - I don't recall) had a regular party ticket but also a "party within a party" dessert with villains, I believe. Don't recall the price at all. Might have been $50 on top of party ticket (plus your daytime ticket if you did a park during the day too!)

yes, we did it in '14 and enjoyed it greatly. Would have to check notes, believe it was $99 pp. Lots of time with face characters in the castle and so nice to have a piece of turf staked out. It was our trip splurge, have't done DP in years, unless GD is along few souveniers, etc. A nice option, was surprised to see it not offered last year

believe it or not in DL you had roped off area with park benches to sit upon :worship:to watch the FW

as to $50 upsell, I was thinking more of things that wouldn't cost disney $: a special character encounter, etc.

I think my math was $68 + 25%of68 = 85 + 8.5% tax (may have overestimated that as I am from NY) = $92 something but if tax is low like 6% it's 90 something.
