Anyone else watching The Bachelorette?

I missed most of the show....Thanks for the honest comments about what was going on...I can actually visualize it and not have to watch the whole show.:rotfl:
Actually, you just missed all the commercials. They had a break, like every 5 minutes. :headache:

My sister has already told her DH that she's booking a flight to Seattle so she can meet him! LOL :rotfl:

Hey, it worked in Sleepless in Seattle.

I can see I'm in the minority but I thought she was sincere too! I love Jessie, just love him!!!!! I think she followed her heart and not her head.

As for Matt and Shayne, there was nothing there. Nope not a thing. There is no way that will last.

an old married couple is what the host said.....yeah about 90 years old where they've forgotten they know each other. :rotfl:

well, of course they did....why have a one hour show when you can drag it to 2 hours??

I respectfully disagree. I said a few pages back that I think DeAnna has a big hole in her, left from her mother's death. I think she is more happy about finally finding anyone who loves her - after being dumped by Brad, so she can announce it to the world. Likewise, I do think, if she's able to get their relationship to last to the wedding she would want to televise it, again, as an announcement, that she is lovable after all.

Far different motivation than Trista & Ryan. But, I'd like to be wrong.

Trista and Ryan televised EVERYTHING! They milked their fifteen minutes for all it was worth! I do think Deanna hasn't gotten over her mother's death, but speaking from experience I don't think it is anything you completely get over. Who knows if it will work, only time will tell.

and they are still trying to if you live anywhere in CO:headache: Including HIS brother getting married got in the society pages
:upsidedow

Yes, they milked it. It got bad when Trista started showing up on interview shows like on VH1, What happened to the 90's? :headache: So yes, she wants to be on TV, but, I mean her motivation to get married to Ryan was different.

they make some major money....plus endorsement money. His earning potential actually probably will diminish when he hangs up the professional snowboard.

Well, they get a free wedding out of this, so no debt there. :thumbsup2 This will probably the biggest wedding The Bachelor ever puts together, and biggest in TV history. With their track record of people staying together, they need all the publicity they can get. If they make it that far, this will be bigger than when Charles & Diana married.

Like I said earlier, the May 9th wedding date is not just a random day. It is right smack in the middle of May Sweeps weeks. I'm sensing a huge televised extravaganza complete with advertising rates to rival the Superbowl. The producers know a cashcow when they see it.

I was so disappointed in the show tonight. I am such a hopeless romantic and saw much more of a love story between Jason and Deanna. The editors did a really lousy job with showing her love story Jesse.

I didn't even bother watching the ATFR I was so disappointed. I wonder how many other people turned it off. I know that going to FORT, Jokers, and ABC there were going to be a lot of people that felt like me.

I won't be watching another Bachelor or Bachelorette again.

I totally agree. I turned it off too, and was honestly bored during a lot of the show. This season failed to really capture me for some reason. I also agree that I didn't see a lot of chemistry between Jesse and Deanna....I just don't know how she came to this decision.

yuk yuk YUK!!!

I am soooooo glad that trainwreck is over!! :woohoo:

I'm THRILLED she picked Jesse because Jesse doesn't have the luggage or burden that Jason has when they eventually break up. Jesse is a complete person and he can give her what she needs, TOTAL ATTENTION.

The speech about how wonderful she is sounded so fake and phony.... I could pour it on pancakes... :crazy1:

Jason, YOU WON, guy! :thumbsup2 Now go home to your son and find a woman who can deal with life as an adult. That girl was toooo needy and has more baggage than Samsonite.

I don't see Jason as the next Bachelor but he might end up being that after last night's episode. ANYTHING beats Jeremy.... WHY doesn't the makeup stop all that SHINE on his face??? :scared:

Oh, well, now I can relax because FORT was taking up too much of my time!! :lmao:

One Word:

SWEEPS

...I think it will be televised

Mary

I thought the same thing....

I work in broadcasting and the May sweeps is the moneymaker for the networks.... and they have to fight the ending of American Idol (Fox and CBS OWN the May Sweeps) during that time and ABC usually suffers during that time.

Ugh...I can't believe she picked Jesse, I was so disappointed! I can't believe anyone could turn down Jason. He was so sweet and so romantic. I absolutely loved the board game he made her! I felt so bad for him in the limo, when he was talking about not being able to find someone to love. Any woman would be lucky to have him!

I actually really liked Jeremy. I hated how they let him come back to talk to her. It made him appear really desperate and sad! He's definitely appeared much quieter and shy than Jason. But I think thought both guys were so much better than Jesse.

I actually liked DeAnna up until a few episodes ago. After all the ranting and raving about how scorned she was over Brad, she wound up basically doing the same thing to Jason. Not to mention, she picked the most unstable guy on the show. I realize that getting engaged is a big deal, but the way Jesse was reacting seemed like he really unsure of it. I'll be really surprised if their relationship lasts past a few months.

AND...wasn't that "special" announcement LAME??? I figured it would be the wedding date announcement, but I held out hope that it was something a little more thrilling. Stupid show, why do I get sucked into it??

I also agree that I didn't see a lot of chemistry between Jesse and Deanna....I just don't know how she came to this decision.
It's all in the editing. Last night her family (mainly her sister) kept saying that she thought Jason was the better choice for her. The rest of her family seemed to be leaning that way also. As soon as it seemed like Jason would be the guy I looked at my DD's & mom & said, "She's picking Jesse - you can tell by how they've edited the show". Sure enough, she did.

I do have to say though - she did tell Jason that she didn't make her final decision until that morning of the final rose ceremony. She said she weighed everything & blah, blah, blah....................but I'm wondering if part of her decision was the fact that Jesse does not have an ex or a child & everything would be "all about them". It may be selfish, but if she's not ready for an immediate family then she made the best decision for her.

Stupid show, why do I get sucked into it??
We all said the same thing last night - dumb show!!!

Unfortunately, we'll be snuggled under our blankets on the couch with our bowls of popcorn when the next one starts too!!! :rotfl: I swear, it's like a drug!!!

I really hated last night's episode and it made me so mad at DeAnna. For all of her talk about not wanting to hurt people, blah, blah, blah...she then kept Jason on throughout the whole show before dumping him. Knowing that a small child was involved, if she knew she was not going to pick him - and I find it hard to believe for one second that she would be willing to sacrifice the "all about her" for someone else's child, she should have sent him home earlier. She sent Fred and Richard home because they were such nice guys and she didn't want to see them hurt, but kept Jason? Really not nice at all. Honestly, this woman comes off as one of the most whining, selfish women I've ever seen. Jason and his son are certainly better off without her and since I liked Jesse also, he'd better hope the wedding doesn't go through, because he will never be able to give her the constant emotional stroking and attention that she needs.

The whole premise of the show is to narrow it down to 2 people then have a big dramatic finale and (producer's finger's crossed) a happily ever after. Everybody knows this going in...her, the guys, the audience, so I don't get why she's getting crucified for doing that!

Yes, it was hard on Jason because he has a child. But you know what? I blame Jason for participating in the show, not DeAanna so much for the end result. And I'm sure people would have been complaining no matter which choice she made - if it was the other way around, it would be poor Jesse, she's so superficial, she didn't want to marry a snowboarder.

And you know what - people say it was "all about her" - DUH! Who was it supposed to be about? I think she did a great job balancing being true to herself with not hurting people in the process. However, I think she should have told Jason the minute he hit the podium and not let him start to propose. That I didn't like, but I understood her explanation to him.

I think her and Jesse are ADORABLE together and I really hope it lasts. The track record for the show is not good, but more so when it's the GUYS picking the girls on the Bachelor. (I mean seriously - Shayne is wife material??) And as far as the wedding being televised - that was probably a contractual obligation they had to agree to before this even started so I don't blame them for that one.

That's exactly what I was about to say. I did think that DeAnna was selfish and immature when it came to a lot of things, but she did what she had to do. It was sad for Jason that he didn't get picked but she had to narrow it down to two people and Jason was the other person she came closest to falling in love with. In the end it just wasn't there but that's what the show's about. Only one guy gets picked, and everyone who agrees to be on the show knows that. It's not her fault that Jason was hurt in the end and she has nothing to do with his son; you could tell she felt bad but she had to let someone go. I really liked Jason but that was all his own doing, he signed up for the show and risked getting hurt, and unfortunately that's how things panned out.

It's supposed to be about building a relationship between TWO people, not a lovefest only about herself.

isn't THAT the truth?! I was trying to keep up with them while watching the show last night ... yikes!

BUT. they were right about who won. they always are ... LOL
