Anyone else waiting for a SW sale for December???

It just seems like it takes them so long to discount the flights anymore. We need flights for Dec 13 from St.Louis to MCO. So far they are wide open, but still $109 one way...

I guess about 6 weeks out we will see them drop??? I caught a ding with October flights for $49.....So I feel like it will happen for December!

It is just hard being patient!!!!! That is the only thing I have left to purchase for our trip.....

We're waiting for those great January Dings (but I did go ahead and book our flights just in case). Between our trips to WDW and our other destinations, we can usually use SWA, so we don't mind having the $ as credits.

Count me in waiting too. We can drive for about $400 and there are 5 of us going so we need some $39 fares (it got down to $29 last year so I'm hopeful).

I'm waiting for our trip December 26-January 8. I am not hopeful on a sale for the Dec. 26 leg, but maybe for the Jan. 8 trip home. I booked as soon as they opened for our dates and it seemed really expensive, but it was the cheapest by far of all the airlines.

Question about this: If I book for 4 seats in January now, and then find sale or ding rates, I know I can get a credit back. My question, are these credits for the person named on the ticket only, or for the person who paid.

What I want to do is book, rebook at a cheaper rate, get the credit, and then use the credit to book flights for just me and DH, not the other 2 who are flying. Can this be done?

Me too! and considering the fact that I got the trip down for 59 I am a bit upset that it is sitting at 145 for return AND all the seat appear to be filling up..... Oh and I am only looking at december 11th --- not high trravel season

My younger son and I are taking a short 4 day trip (couldn't resist the great deal they have going on) and I am hoping for a great SW deal for 12/14-12/17, if not I am going to fly JetBlue. I could book our airfare right now for 312 roundtrip for the both of us, that is a great deal. We just came back from the world on 9/26- had a wonderful time.

Well just from watching things over the past 6 months...It seems like they have only been discounting about 6 weeks out. I saw all kinds of great prices ranging from $49 to $79 for the month October in September...

So I figure I won't see prices on the December flights drop till the end of October or first od November.

We need 12-13 and the return 12-18 and those flights are wide open.

We even managed to get $59 seats Memorial day week this year..So we have to be positive....

I just hate waiting, but I refuse too book the $109 and the $159....I am not flying on busy days of the week either???

I feel so spoiled when I think the same thing. We're flying in Nov and I still haven't booked some of the tickets! Today, a DING came out for our route, but instead of IOW of $109-$145, the DING fares are $84-$99. While certainly I would enjoy savings on specific tickets purchased, the truth is, I can be a bit flexible (let's see spend $100+ or have DD miss another day of school and With about 6 options to choose from and no "Unavailable flights showiing on the days we want to travel, I'm holding out for $69 or less!

I just don't want to pay more for my airfare than the whole 3 night Bahamas cruise cost me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Hi Michelle! Remember me from our May flight to WDW? I've also seen your screen name over on Cruise Critic too!

I've not waiting for December but STILL waiting for a decent sale for our November trip! I did catch a nice ding for the flight down (have $120 in credit from that) but the return is still at what it booked it for -- 159 OW/PP! That's a big ouch. I'd be thrilled at this point if it would just come down to 109!

Could sure use the credit to put toward airfare for our cruise in April!

How was your Memorial day week trip?? We had a good time and did everything although it was more crowded than I am used too.

We are excited to go back a for a few days in December for cooler temps and lower crowds..This time DH is coming with us and we have added a 3 night cruise...

You should get a break for November anytime now.....
