:upsidedow I am seriously contemplating doing a split stay at my home resort SSR: 5 nights in the THV and 5 nights in a one bedroom. DH and I are both wanting to stay there and the the best compromise is 1/2 and 1/2. The THV have to be the first 5 nights or the trip will cost an additional 34 points and I am borrowing as it is. ;) Think going from the THV to a one bedroom will be a huge letdown? I am thinking it will feel like like two separate experiences as the villas are so different. :woohoo:

I think it sounds like a great plan! We'd love to try the treehouses sometime, and you're right, the villas will be a whole different experience. We do lots of split stays and really enjoy trying all the resorts. Have fun!!

There is just so much about SSR we like and really want to spend our time there but we do love a split stay, to try other places and be able to do the DDP for part of the time. I think it's a win-win. DH thinks I am nuts.

We got you beat. I had a week (Wednesday to Wednesday) in a VWL studio reserved in 2008. I then decided at about 4 months out to try to get a one bedroom. :rotfl2:

None were available for the entire time so this is where the split stay came in. At that point we had never stayed at VWL so I did not want to give up that. So to save points this is what we did. We stayed Wed, and Thurs night in a 1BR at BWV. We stayed Friday and Saturday night in a studio at VWL. And then Sun, Mon, and Tues night at SSR in a 1BR. Did I forget to say we had a 3 year old and a 15 month old. Luckily we also had a rental car and moving from place to place was not as hard as it could be. (We never did fully unpack). Fortunately, we did not mind going with the flow and pretty much planned our park days with where we were staying.

After all that I would still do a split but probably only two a vacation. We loved the treehouses having stayed in them last December. Have fun!

I love it!!!! :lmao: We did a triple split on our last trip to WDW too, before we owned at SSR. We did 3 nights at the OKW in a GV, 3 nights at the AKV SV in a 2 bedroom, and then 2 at the POR. Never thought I would do another triple split but we just got back from Disneyland and did one night at the Marriott Suites, 5 nights at the GCV in a 2 bedroom, and then a final night at the PPH. :scared1:

We did 4 hotels our last visit - 1 night in a hotel by Seaworld, 4 nights at BCV, 4 nights at Kidani, and finally 5 nights at BWV. It wasn't as bad as I was expecting. All of our rooms were ready early except Kidani - which wasn't ready until 4:30. Our trip in Sept, we have 3 hotels lined up - 2 nights at the Poly (never stayed there), 4 nights at BLT (never stayed there), and finally 3 nights at Jambo House (never stayed there either)! Should be very interesting. The next trip I plan, I think we will just pick 2 hotels.

:thumbsup2 Fun trips-they sound fantastic! I like to try new places too.

The Poly. :cloud9: I haven't stayed there either but I love the theme and decor. I hope they add on DVC one day.

I don't find the moving too bad especially when it's to another Disney resort as they schlep the bags for us.
