Anyone else stuck in the storm at MK

So I'm sitting on the floor of Town Square Theatre trapped in a pretty good thunderstorm. Parade and fireworks canceled. Anyone else here with us?

Good Luck! Too bad it isn't earlier in the day, they run the rain parade if it looks like the normal afternoon parade will get canceled.

BTW it might still run unless they announced canceled. one year the last electric light parade once ran 60 minutes after the park was suppose to close that night, it shocked everyone that tried to enjoy the rain.

We'll so far thst keep saying delayed for wishes. The storms been over for a good 15 minutes with a good radar, so not sure why they haven't decided.

Fireworks attract lightning, they are probably just watching where the storm went too and how far away.

They finally went off around 11:00 and MSEP was at 11:30. Worked out great, the vast majority left the park, so we had excellent viewing for both! Second tip of the day - if a storm rolls in around the time for either, wait it out! lol.

As a trained meteorologist, fireworks do not attract lightning. The build up of positive and negative charges on the ground and in the clouds is what causes lightning.

Ok technically yes, but lightning will follow a fireworks trail as a path of least resistance.
