you know the indention in your mattress from where you sleep nightly....

I'm SO tired of this! We just bought the new mattress back in Aug it's a Serta so I ***thought*** it would be decent...

BUt maybe I'm JUST TOO DARN FAT!?!?! And I'll always have an idention like that?!? (I'm not THAT fat) I mean there are football players that weigh more - what do they do? Do there mattresses not have this problem?? ( I know they probably own the top of the line - but I was just grasping for some example of someone larger than me...)

Is this something I'll have to always live with? Dh's side is not quite as bad but you can tell on his side as well (he weighs about 210) one would *think* matresses would hold up to say 450-500 pounds in any one spot before making an indention (you know to hold 2 people in one location @ the same time....TMI.... :thumbsup2 )

Did you get one of those memory foam mattresses? :confused3 I would think that with a new mattress that you wouldn't have that problem. DH is slightly heavier than say, um, when we first met :lmao: and his side doesn't have a dent that I have noticed :rotfl2:. We have had our mattress for gosh, 16 years (ah, I think I will be going this weekend to buy a new matress ;) ). Maybe they don't make them like they use to? :confused3
I would think it would still be under warranty, try calling and see what they say about "wells" in the mattress. :rotfl: There's nothing like sleeping on a lumpy, bumpy, welled mattress, good luck!

:confused3

But just a heads up. You know those Tempurpedic mattresses? :sad2: :sad2: If you sit on one in a store, you will leave a hinney print on it :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:

I'm having the same problem and it's making my back hurt. Our mattress is about 5 years old and I'm to the point where I need to put my body pillow in the center so that I don't constantly roll over to my husband's side of the bed. I'm wondering if it's not our mattress but instead our bed. There's a bar under the bed that just won't stay together so there's no middle support. My bed is very old. I've had it since I was 12 years old. I'm thinking of getting a new bed that will support a mattress better.

We use to rotate (not flip ) our pillow top mattress because of this same problem.

But we just got our new Select comfort bed (or sleep by numbers) and it is just wonderful DW looks like she's sleeping in a hole .I keep mine at about 55 for normal day sitting and watching TV & DISing but set it to 25 for sleeping.

Dm came up to check it out and said she could never sleep on it until I cranked it up to about 85 and she went out like a light.

I have had my tempurpedic mattress for 2 yrs, and I have no permanent dents. When you first get up, there will be an imprint of whatever body part was against the mattress. Within 2-3 minutes the imprint will be gone. I have periodic back problems, and it has really helped.

I had a Spring Air mattress for almost 20 years that was fantastic. But I didn't need the king anymore so I wanted a Full because I have this antique cannonball full bed frame I wanted to use. I went to an area mattress store and bought the top of the line Spring Air for almost $1,000. It has a 20 year guarantee for dents etc.. It is a Spine Saver.
Well I have a huge pit. I change my sheets once a week and turn the mattress each time. By the end of the week the pit is right where I sleep. The entire mattress has pits on the right side toward the edge, no matter which side it is turned to. It is not a soft mattress, so it shouldn't make these indentations so quickly.
I called the mattress place and they came out to look at it. They measure by running a thread across the bed from side to side and putting a ruler into the deepest pit. My pit was only 3/4 inch and they won't replace the mattress unless the pit is 1 inch or more.
So I am sleeping on the same side, I am not going to turn the mattress for a while and I will call them back in 6 months for them to measure the pit again. I am sure I can get it down another 1/4 inch.
By the way, I am not huge, I won't put my weight here but I am way under 200, a little under 175, and a little over 150. lol Peggie

I actually just started a thread earlier today on the budget board asking folks for some advice because my DH and I are looking to buy twin and full mattress and box spring sets. By the time you lie down on 25 mattress, they all feel the same. We are so confused! These sets are for our kids, so we're not looking for the absolute top of the line, but we don't want junk either. We want the best bang for our buck. What doesn't make it any easier is the fact that they change the model names from store to store.
