Anyone else noticed the little voice in the hedge in Fantasyland? (and a rant!!)

On our December trip we were walking past a hedge outside a building in Fantasyland and my husband stopped because he thought he heard something. We bent down and a little voice in the hedge said something like "Help! Get me out of here!" :goodvibes

I can't quite remember where exactly this was. I think it was maybe somewhere near one of the entrances to Fantasyland, either coming from Liberty Square or somewhere near the entrance by the castle. Or it was near one of the Fantasyland restaurants?

Has anyone else heard this and where was it? :listen:

There were not many people around when we heard it and the voice was very quiet, so I doubt you would even notice it at all when there's lots of other people and noise around you.

Or have you noticed any other voices talking to you from strange places? :wizard:

I read that there are 2 talking bushes called Herb and Flora on the way to Camp Minnie-Mickey in Animal Kingdom. At various times during the day they apparently talk to people (and they gossip to each other about people!) I forgot to look for them when we went, so was wondering if they are still there?

Also in December we were the first people on Splash Mountain one day. No one was rushing to it because I suppose they didn't want to get wet first thing on a December morning. But I must say how enjoyable it was with nobody behind us talking and yelling, because you could really HEAR what the various animals were actually saying. It really made the ride SO much more enjoyable. :thumbsup2

We also went into the roped-off outside queue area and listened closely to the birds talking and singing away in their little houses. :cloud9:

Sometimes we have repeated various attractions expressly because other people ruined them by talking or screaming all the time. :headache:

I fully understand that children do get excited and some talking is to be expected I suppose, but why don't ADULTS realise that YOU MISS SO MUCH OF THE MAGIC AND SOUND EFFECTS in an attraction if you don't be quiet and just listen and watch? Plus the fact that you are ruining it for other guests. :(

Not to mention the pre-shows. When we were at Universal Studios we had to endure a guy on his cellphone making dinner reservations during the pre-show of "ET". Don't people understand that a pre-show is PART OF THE ATTRACTION? The idea is to listen to Steven Spielberg as he explains things to you. :scratchin

We also had a woman talking LOUDLY about totally inane things all the way through the pre-show of "Jimmy Neutron". Some people just don't get the concept of a pre-show. :sad2:

You can have your discussions about where you are eating dinner and how you can hear the toilet flushing in the room above you etc etc BEFORE or AFTER you experience an attraction. And do turn the cellphone off!! I just don't understand people sometimes!!

**end of rant**

A bush talked to us in AK. Unfortunately, dh and ds were way ahead of us, and dd and I couldn't stop to chat to the bush without losing the other half of our family. We did stop long enough to say "Hi!" and "Sorry we can't stay!" Has anyone else come across the talking bush?

I can't remember exactly where it was in the park.

The only inanimate talkers we've found have been PUSH and Wes Palm - both cracked DD up. No bushes yet.

I've heard the talking water fountain in Epcot, but no talking bushes yet...

My DH and I bought frozen treats from that Minute Maid stand in Fantasyland near the Teacups. We went and sat down right next to it, by a nook in a building. As we sat there we could hear Stitch talking to 'us' .. "Are you hiding? I'm hiding too!" :goodvibes

How gorgeous! :cloud9: My husband just corrected me and said that the voice he heard actually said "I'm hiding", not what I said in my first post. So maybe it was the same place where you heard it! :wizard:

How cool! I'll have to look for them.
The recycling can in AK spoke to my DD and really freaked her out. Do I get bad mother of the year for laughing like crazy (okay behind my hand) at her reaction? :lmao: :lmao: She told every CM she saw about how "it really freaked her out" and "they should tell it not to scare little kids". :rotfl:
Its down in the conservation station after the train ride out to Rafiki's. But on a positive note, she was so freaked out by this that I didn't have to do the petting zoo. :teeth: I'm a bad mother!!

DS loves to see Wes at AK. He still hasn't figured out how a tree can actually walk around and talk to him. However he does get a little nervous when Wes actually comes up to him.

We went to the ladies room in this area and while my DDs and I were 'occupied' we heard Stitch yelling, "Lilo, Lilo" like he was looking for her. My DD was 5 at the time and she said, "Get out! You're a boy!"

If you go down one of the little side streets on Main St., there's a woman taking singing lessons on the second floor of the building. Also in the kitchen store on Main St., there's an old fashion telephone on the wall, pick it up and there's a party line conversation going on.

yup, it's Stitch. You can hear him perfectly if you sit in the seating area in the Enchanted Grove right behind of Belle's Garden. He's been hiding in the bushes for a while now.

On the outdoor back patio of the Tusker House in AK, you can hear someone upstairs getting ready for a meal, clattering and banging pots and pans, washing things, etc. At one point something breaks and a little later on, it gets swept up. I love sitting back there and listening to this. Also, it seems hardly anyone knows you can sit out there, so there are usually open tables, and it's a nice "time out from the crowds" spot.

this is so cool I had no idea. i"ve been to the magic kingdom several times in the past few weeks and never noticed this stuff. I guess it's because i mostly avoid fantasy land due to the crowds.

Do you mean other than the voices in my head? :scared:

Just kidding ;)

OMG! This happened to me and it scared the heck out of me! I was the only one in the bathroom and Stitch was talking. I thought I was going crazy. WDW, I like all of the things you do to make the park more enjoyable, but having stitch talk to you while in the ladies room is really disturbing! :crazy2:

I'm glad someone else has heard this before because since Sept I have been questioning myself if I really heard what I thought I heard.

Is he in the bushes too? I'll have to check next time. We clearly heard him from the building, not bushes (there weren't any bushes behind us where we were sitting). I'll have to check for him in the bathroom too. ;) We tried to point this out to friends last weekend, but it must have been too cold for Stitch that day. We stood in the same spot we heard him from before and some cast members looked at us like we were crazy to just stand there. :rotfl:

Well I only heard stitch in one bathroom. It was either at Cosmic Rays or the Tomorrowland Terrace Noodle Station. I'm just warning you that it really is frightening. I don't frighten easy and when he started talking I turned around and made sure I was the only one in there.

I love hearing the little birds talking and singing in their houses at Splash Mountain. I don't think a lot of people pay attention while in line; they're probably too focused on the ride, but the little details sure add to the magic.

I love hearing the "critters" on Splash Mountain also. I have also beeh chased by the recycle can at AK. DH was laughing at me and wouldn't help me get away. It was fun though. I will definately listen for Stitch when we go back in March. ::yes:: ::yes::
