Anyone else not going back until after Carsland is finished?

I know it isn't that far off but it seems to be taking forever. I just hate to make the trip before then and miss carsland. I need something else to keep me occupied while I wait:wizard:

I don't blame you. And I'd make sure it's open before you schedule your next visit. I don't want to be pessimistic, but the opening ballpark is really tentative and with a whole new land, a lot can go wrong. It would be totally awful if you came and missed Carsland by a couple of weeks!

Most people who do regular big trips do them yearly. Not everyone is an AP holder or local who go more than once a year. So I don't think you would get a fare sample on here because I have an AP and will be there before Carsland is open for sure.

But if you don't go often, I'd hold off and wait for it to open and the crowds to calm down too.

We were planning our first trip to DL in July 2012. After reading some info about Carsland & a time line when it maybe opening, we decided to hold off until Summer of 2013. We are planning on returning to Orlando to visit Universal, the new Legoland & a few days at WDW.:goodvibes

I was just getting too nervous about the large expected crowds & I want to enjoy our first trip to Southern CA not stand in a 3hr line. Plus I want to be able to have enough money saved up to stay at DL & PPH:banana:

No plans to go back until October 2012. We are taking a Disney Cruise up the Pacific Coast and would like to visit DCA after our cruise to see the new Carsland.

We're from Alberta Canada and we are definitly trying to wait until carsland is done before our next trip. We are hoping it's done before the end of July. Or should we wait until august?

Well, we're going this September. After this trip, our next trip likely won't be until 2013--so not until well after Carsland is open. We want to wait until the craziness goes down a bit...and until after we can save up some money again.

Well, I bought DAP vouchers for 3 of us (DW, DGD, myself) before the June price increase, and planned a trip for November this year to activate them. I purposely put off this year's trip until Nov, so we'd get a year from then to be able to use them when Carsland opens. So as long as Carsland isn't 5 months or more behind schedule, we're good.

We're actually going right before it opens. Half of that on purpose, half of it not. We could schedule later, no problem..but I don't want crazyness. We wouldn't be able to enjoy carsland anyway. SOOOO we're going early June in the hopes that a lot of people are doing what you are LOL

We're trying to decide if we want to do the same thing. We can either go in May or September, keep going back and forth. It will be our first and only trip to DLR as a family.

Yeah I'm pretty sure it will be crazy. We were there when nemo opened though so it won't be too shocking.

Hmmmmm. Honestly, I'd do May. Not JUST because of Carsland (tho it's a bonus to have it not be crazy busy because of it)..but because it's cooler weather and in general not quite as crowded. You don't want your first trip to be super hot and crowded! Plus then you have a good reason to go back in a few years ;) :rotfl:

And Bungle- Yeah any opening is gonna be a little busy. At least it's a whole land and not a ride??

September seems to be a very bad month for refurbs, at least it is this year.
