Ok!! first of all let me say, I totally love this place, last time we went to disney was like 8 years ago and I got great tips here, but I'm getting kind of frustrated with DH, I'm trying to plan some meals ahead and what to do and he's just ""a go with the flow" kind of person  but he did not complain last time when I made reservations for the fantasmic package and reservations for le cellier. But now I'm just getting no love!! everytime I bring an idea up it's "we will eat anywhere and go wherever"
this coming from a guy who hates junk food and anything with fries.

I don't want to be stranded without a good place to eat before a show, what should I do??

i say make those adrs, what does he need to know about it? you have a general idea of his tastes, so go ahead and book what you know you'll both like. he'll be thanking you when he sees other people getting turned away from "anywhere and wherever" as walkups. you can always cancel if you don't feel like going that place on that day.

I feel for you. My DH doesn't want to even hear me say the word "Disney" until we're there. He just doesn't understand that if ADR's aren't made, we won't be eating at nice places. SO...I told him to name 2 places he wanted to eat. He named Le Cellier and none other. Therefore, I made ADR's where I want to eat (and I got Le Cellier) and told him that I don't want to hear any gruff about it later. Poor thing, he's totally clueless, but I love him anyways  He doesn't even want to hear where we're staying.

My DH & DS have no interest in trip planning either. They want to just show up, & everything go perfectly. Incidentally, on the way to our destination, they always want to know where we're dining that evening. On the way to dinner that night, they always ask where we're eating the next day. This is a daily routine, throughout the trip.

glad to here I'm not the only one!!
I'm making 1 reservation in each park for dinner(or at least try to) as we plan on visiting one disney park per day and I would love any input.
I can't make up my mind on where to go...where is your favorite place that the kids like but adults can love too.

ugh...
I know what your feeling..my family is doing the same thing to me, and we are traveling in a huge group! I'm not getting any help from anyone..they just don't get it do they?
:sad2:

just make them....my husband always does the same thing and ends up loving everything we eat.

Well, I am willing to put my DH up for bids, as he is just a wee bit too controlling- "Can't you get San Angel at just exactly the time I want" (in 2 and 1/2 weeks) and the ever popular "I don't consider a pastry on Main Street breakfast! I want that like I want a hole in the head."

Who wants him, I might even pay someone.

Just got off the phone with him and told him I need to get to bed early because I have to get up for work at 530, so I couldn't partake in his 1030 PM drive home from work call and he said this:"Geez! You know we leave in 2 and 1/2 weeks and we have not figured out the ride plan for Epcot on day four. We started with Soarin on day 3, then Nemo and friends...and then (oh you are writing this down, right?) making our way to the MGM boat dock, so on day four we need to figure out if we want to start or end with Ellen's energy adventure. Hey can you look up what ADR's we have that evening and at what time so I can think about it at least on my way home?"

Take him girls, he is yours!

My DH thinks I am a wacko! When I ask him about this or that, he just says "I will have fun no matter what we do". And he does! He also happily enjoys the ADR's I have made or we make other plans depending on our mood. So I would say have a good back up plan and don't overload him with information and you should be golden. :thumbsup2

I am with the "just make the ADR's and they will come" group. I do all (and I do mean all) of our arrangements for Disney trips. I am a Project Manager by trade and this works just fine for my family. I take requests but when they are not forthcoming, I go with what I think is best.

If anything, the constant tuning of the MrMan Vacation Plan tends to build up my expectations too high (I mean, we didn't get to ride Soarin' 4 times......and the creme brulee was kinda tart....what a terrible day!!) :rotfl:

My family doesn't even notice these things, so all is well..... I do though and it won't happen next time!!!! :rotfl2:

MK Crystal Palace. The food is great and the kids get Pooh!
AK Nothin! (No sit downs) and we think it is just a big zoo
MGM- 50's Prime Time
Epcot- Le Cellier

Agree with all except for slight disagreement with AK. Sneak over to AKL and try out Boma. It is an excellent buffet. Excellent selection and quality is high for a buffet. Definitely worth a visit and not far from AK proper.

DBF is very very similar except he has never been to Disney so his excuse is more along the lines of "you know more than me, I've never been"

And I keep reminding him that he HAS eaten before :rotfl:

"You know what I like" is his second most frequent answer (we have been together for a year and a half)

I know he will be very happy I have made these ADRs once we get there.

And I stopped mentioning Disney to him, now I just send "you can choose to read this" emails :rotfl: Sometimes he tosses them and sometimes he reads for a laugh :rolleyes1

I didn't know that my husband was a bigamist :lmao:.

Errrr . . .What's the problem? Just make reservations where you would like to eat, and tell him that he'll like it. Works for me:surfweb:.

I understand my dh just says make the ADR's and anything is fine with him. I am kinda glad I guess that he trusts me to make the right choices but is it trust or laziness? LOL!!!! My dh has the theory that I should just tell him every morning what the plan is and he will go along with it.. Why oh why does this only apply to disney? LOL

:sad2: Yup, I can relate to this! :sad2: I've gone ahead & made ADR's anyway but I better not hear, "Why did you pick this place?" because you might than just end up reading about me on the "Rude Guests" thread!!!

Dh doenst want to hear a word about it untill a week before we leave, otherwise I would drive him nuts. I scan the menus, pick out the ones I think he would like, and I know DD and I would like. Then I make him pick x out of the pile of the ones that looked good.

So I had 8 for our upcoming trip, he had to pick the 5 he wanted. Then I planned the day and made the ADR around those he picked.

my favorites:

MK - Liberty Tree Tavern, if you like thanksgiving dinner or Crystal Palace, if you'd like a more extensive buffet
EPCOT - Marrakesh was really really good, and not as "out there" as you might think
MGM - 50's Prime Time, hands down my favorite in any of the parks! such a great atmosphere, and the food's good too
AK - haven't eaten at AK, but did go over for lunch to the Mara which was good, but for dinner, I'd go with Boma, just from reviews I've read

good luck with your choices :)

I am in the same boat! I am traveling with my husbands family a total of 7 and I asked them the same question this weekend about meals and they said they will just "wing it". Well, there is no winging it the week of Thanksgiving! :rotfl2: It is already too late for alot of the places anyway.

I only was talking about 1 sit down meal a day. I made 2 ADR's and 1 lunch ADR. I may make 1 more and that is it. Let them fend for themselves! :rotfl:

Oh my gosh - that's just too funny! You have my sympathies - I've had many a boss like that. :lmao: Guess I'm lucky in that my DH falls somewhere in the middle -- willing to give minimal input if I ask, but happy to go where I say :rotfl2:
