DD (Lauren) returned back to her beloved College after staying home for the past year and half from my Transplant. It was a very important time for my family that we stayed close. Lauren has called alot since she went back and she is doing very well... (Mom brag... she is pulling a 4.0) However I have noticed that this past weekend she called alot more! I think she is homesick a little. I know I sure do miss her alot.

i mailed her up a V-Day card with a Wal-Mart gift card in it. I hope she gets it tomorrow. She will be home at the end of the month for a week. I am sure by then that I will be allowed to go out a little. I was thinking that DH & I could take her out for a nice dinner! :goodvibes

Then maybe one day her and I could go and do a little shopping and get her a few things to take back and a nice Mother/Daughter lunch. DD is going to college to be a News Anchor.

I do!! My daughter is a sophomore and I thought it would be better this year, and I guess it is. I am crying less, but I still miss her so much. I want to call her all the time, but I don't. I wish it was May! Glad to hear I am not the only one. Praying for you every day.

my mom tells me all the time that she is so glad i am living at home and commuting....im glad too...the time goes REALLY quick though..im halfway through my junior year!

Patricia ~ My DD's a senior and I STILL miss her when she's home and then goes back. She was just home for the weekend and I was so sad to see her leave. She has grown into such a wonderful young adult - the college experience has been amazing!

I graduated college in 2003 and moved to another state, but I miss my family terribly. I talk to my mom online most days and call home about once a week.

This is my daughter's first year away from home and I really miss her, we have always been pretty close (except when she went through that whiney stage when she was 12)
She's made friends etc and I'm happy for her, but the closer it gets to when she is due to come home the more I miss her! She'll be home for her Spring break March 6th to the 10th and I've taken 2 vacation days that week to spend some mom and daughter time with her. We love going to lunch, she hates the food at school so I tend to spoil her abit when she gets home.

I have two in college right now - the oldest will graduate in May.

Do I miss them? Sure. But we've adjusted to life without them constantly in the picture, and they've adjusted great to being on their own for most of the year. Which, at least in my way of looking at things, is exactly how it should be.

Younger DS (a sophomore at a school 2500 miles away from home) is hoping to get a very coveted internship in NYC, which means he won't be home for the summer, at all. When he first brought up the subject, I never even hesitated - just told him to go for it, and reminded him that they'd be lucky to have someone as enthusastic and talented as he is!

My son wont even leave for college til this fall and Im already dreading it. Im going to miss him a lot and so will my 15 yr old. He and his brother are pretty close and I know its going to be hard for him.

I still miss my DS alot and he is a junior in college. He will be coming home this long 3 day weekend and I can't wait to see him. I don't know how I will handle it when younger DS goes to college in a year and a half. I just love having the kids around!

I still miss my daughter and she is a grad student getting her Masters this May. Fortunately we have Cingular so we can talk as much as we want without accruing minutes as long as I use DH phone. My phone is T-mobile. I wish she could come home more often but she is in Ohio and we are in FLorida so it isn't happening.

My DD is only 45 minutes away but some days it seems like a lot more. The first month was really hard but it has gotten easier. She went to Germany last summer on an exchange program and will be going to Greece for two weeks at the end of May when school gets out. Last week she told us she is applying to go to Australia next spring through her school. That will be for the semester and I am really not looking forward to it.

I have 2 in college and my ds came home for the weekend and he gave me a big hug and told me he missed me. I told him it felt like he just left. He told me it was 3 weeks ago.

My other dd hasn't been home since Jan.l 10. We talk almost every day.

I really noticed that college kids really can't go more than 3 weeks without some kind of family connection.

My son is only an hour away, but my dd is 4 1/2 hours away. We are suppose to go up to Marquette MI this weekend, but I'm afraid we will get stranded up there. It never stops snowing.

My daughter is a freshman living on campus about 2 1/2 hrs away. Ahe is avery well adjusted and makes freinds very easily. I was ok when her dad took her to school (We are divorced). Well about 4 or 5 week later it hit me! I was standing in line at the supermarket and saw a young moms with her baby girl in another line. She was so sweet with that baby. I just thought to myself, that used to be us...and then the flood gates opened right there in line. I miss her, but we do fine I talk with her often, and she is happy!
