Anyone else here *not* surprised Charlie Sheen is in the hospital

So sad what he has done with and to his life in regards to drugs. And all those beautiful children that he has … Denise's two and Brooke's twins … he may even have other children, I am not sure. Very sad.

If he indeed does recover from this, I am betting he will go right back to it.

KTLA, abc7, channel 9 and channel 2 are all outside of the hospital. Until one of them updates their website with new information, I'm not inclined to believe much of what has been said. But thats JMO.

He definitely seems to have some self-destructive tendencies. Can't really put my finger on why, but I like him...always have. Hope he gets through this and can find the help/strength he needs to beat his demons. There was a time when we all had Robert Downey Jr. written off completely too.

Totally feel the same way.

Cripes if you look at IMDB he is filming a movie now and rumored to be in 2 more.

A friends sister used to work in a hospital in MD as a nurse. My friend told us that in the 90's Charlie was admitted with a serious case of alcohol poisoning and it wasn't the first time. He was in MD shooting something.

A hiatal hernia can give you a heck of a case of heartburn, but it's never "serious". Painful, yes, but life threatening? No. It's something you have, not something you "get". It's a weakness where the esophagus meets the stomach and it's not caused by anything anyone does. It doesn't bleed and it doesnt' burst. What it does is allow digestive acid to back up into your esophagus. My mother and sister have one and my grandmother did also. To avoid heartburn, they avoided certain foods, like orange juice.

They also mentioned partying with prostitutes. I'm shocked! Let this be a lesson to everyone here not to overdue it when partying with prostitutes. Know your limits!

For the rest of us mere mortals, it's know your CREDIT CARD limits.

I hope he gets to feeling better. I hope one day he will learn from his mistakes.

I thought we'd hear about Lindsay Lohan first. I wonder if there are odds out in Vegas as to which may kick the bucket first.

I was watching Celebrity Rehab last night. There is some rich, 23 yr old heir to some fortune. He has diabetes, is severly overweight, and was told he had the body of an 80 yr old (IIRC.) His body will not handle any more drug abuse.

Dr Drew was begging him to PLEASE go to a sober living house afterward, that it may be the only thing between him and death. And this rich, snotty brat actually said, he'd rather be rebellious & defiant and not go.

Later, Dr Drew was sitting on the couch with his team, saying he was completely burnt out. I know he cares deeply about every patient and thinks every life is worthwhile. But, at some point, when these people are taking away precious time & resources from others, burning them out, when they could be helping others instead. Others who WANT to be helped. I think people just have to step back.

They are adults. Other people shouldn't value their lives over more than the actual people do. If they want to destroy themselves, it IS their choice.

People need to focus on helping the ones who DO want to be saved.

Maybe this is another form of Darwin and cleansing the gene pool?

When we think about incredible people who were dedicating their lives and careers to making the world a better place, and were cut down in the prime of life: Princess Diana and John F. Kennedy, Jr. and that we will never know what they could have contributed, we also have to acknowledge this world has survived and gone on without them and their contributions. Is our society really going to be at such a great loss without another Lindsay Lohan & Charlie Sheen movie/TV show, if they off themselves?

I know it's not PC to say this, but that's how I feel.
