Oh my god, this thread is beginning to bring back memories of another thread in my past!(never mind)......

Okay...I think the darn things are cute and I won't apologize for it. I do plan on going to at least try on a pair before we hit the parks again in October. If they're comfy I'll buy them, if not I'll forget them. I have yet to wear a pair of tennies in the parks that don't give me HUGE blisters by the end of the day. I even started wearing flip flops because I got tired of hot, sweaty, blistered feet. I like air to get to my feet and if I could go barefoot every day I would. Who cares what they look like or what my self esteem is(it sucks at times, actually)? If the dang things are comfy and make it easier to walk all day in the parks, then you'll see them on my feet. In pastel pink because that's my favorite color, or maybe even black because I love black too.
All in all, this thread is cracking me up. For the people who love these shoes, some of you are taking this thread way too seriously. They are SHOES people....wear them or not and get on with your life!

Now, for the poster who said Anna Nicole Smith has alot of self-esteem..well, that's just pathetic....she has about as much self-esteem and confidence as Michael Jackson in a court of law. Her problems stem from her LOW self-esteem....can I see a show of hands for those that agree??

As for the Wal-Mart "CROCS"....I can assure you these are NOT Crocs and never could be. They are hard nasty plastic and not the least bit comfy. And besides, they have octagons instead of circles for holes, which makes them not as much of a status symbol...

.....speaking of status symbols, I do believe the Crocs thing is somewhat just that. Here's my ever interesting look at the whole Crocs phenom....

Someone wore them or something like them to work in a hospital or doctor's office and decided that they were so comfy that they would be perfect to wear out in regular pub-lic, or maybe even to an amusement park....Others who had bad feet quickly followed suit and the Crocs thing was started. It will fade out, and soon enough there will be another shoe that is the absolute best to wear at WDW....this all reminds me of the cars that look like cardboard boxes(is it the Element?)....they are quite the ugly piece of automobile but have somehow managed to be in mostly the driveways of high falutin' artsy fartsy people who for some ungodly reason find this car extra comfy....

And just like the Crocs, if it suited my life well, I'd buy one...but it better have a Barcalounger for a driver's seat, a chocolate fountain and a cooler full of beer in the back, AND get a 100 mpg/city.... :teeth:

Ugly and uncomfortable. I tried them and HATE THEM! Wish I could get my money back.

I wish we would have a Croc sticky on one of the boards so the rest of the posts would go away.

:cool1: Thanks...I feel so much better getting that off my chest :cool1:

havent' read the whole thread yet but why? i mean other than the obvious looks. don't hate them really just don't think i'd ever buy them unless they were really fabulous but they remind me of the 2006 verision of that 80's "classic", jellies and i think they are  probably as comfy

I hate the things and I've worn them. I really didn't want to get a pair because they're sooooooooo ugly, but I caved and bought a pair for my last trip because of so many people raving about the darn things and I need comfy shoes. They actually caused harm to my one foot that I am still having problems when wearing certain shoes that used to never cause me discomfort. By the end of the day I could barely walk my foot was hurting so bad. The next day I put on my tennies and I had no problems the rest of the trip. Some lucky Diser bought them off of me and is hopefully enjoying them. Now I have a pair of Nike flip flops I wore for a week in the parks last summer and my feet never hurt at all. Go figure.

I remember the first time I saw these things at a Hallmark and the saleslady asked me if I wanted to try them on. I gave her a funny look and said "Ewww, no."

If you want comfortable shoes that aren't as ugly as Crocs..might i suggest putting your feet into these beauties.

i can guarantee if you start 30 or 40 threads saying how "comfy" these are they will be the next dis fad you see strolling around the parks:lmao: :rotfl2:

This is the only Crocs thread I have ever even considered reading, so I'm a bit out of the loop, but where, exactly are you folks shopping that the ONLY shoe you can find that's comfortable is a Croc?

I've been wearing every brand of tennis shoe (trainer, to our dear Brits) in the parks since Magic Kingdom opened and I have never once thought 'OMG, my feet are so sore! I'd better look for the ugliest Finger Jello on the planet and strap it to my poor achin' tootsies!'

C'mon. There are hundreds of comfortable shoes on the market. Can't we admit this is just another case of 'I got CINDY'S for breakfast'-hysteria?

(Smack me....I'm stirrin' the pot!)

(But I do really mean it........)

exactly but i really need to start reading the thread before i post as evidently i never have any original "pearls" of wisdom :rotfl:

I just got a pair of crocs...and have not worn anything else since. I have foot problems...AND these are the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn...they are like walking in air! I don't care if they are ugly...I have lime green beach, sea blue niles, and fushia and lime flip-flops.

did you ever see the Steve Martin movie The Jerk when his eyeglass handle invention causes everyone to go crosseyed?...are crocs the eyeglass handle of this century????...maybe you should start a class action suit! :thumbsup2 :)

don't "walmart" and "status symbol" create an oxymoron when you use them in the same post? ;)

The damn things are butt ugly and I wouldn't be caught dead wearing them no matter how comfortable they are. But the shoes themselves aren't what's so annoying. The number of threads about them are. What exactly do dozens of posts praising a fugly shoe have to do with Trip Planning? Hell, even on the "I hate Crocs" thread, more than half of the posts are from the same bunch of folks obsessed with the glorified galoshes.

:rotfl: :rotfl2: :lmao:

You see things my way a lot old timer!

Crocs are like fanny packs. They may be useful, but you'll have to wait until I'm dead to get them on me.

Let me ask you this though, how many of the Croc haters wear fanny packs? Fanny packs are easily lamer than Crocs. You just can't get fuglier than fanny packs.

How about putting your whole family in matching neon shirts? Looks like a pack of dorks to me. I'll bet some of you are guilty.

Heck, I'll bet there are people in matching shirts, with fanny packs and Crocs! I bet they're having fun though...

I just have one question for all who love WDW and hate Crocs, Don't you see what Micky and Minnie are wearing on their feet??? I think a few holes in those boats and we have a couple of croc lovers!!! :rolleyes1

I first read this thread when there were a few posts on it. (I have not read all 10 current pages though). Like the OP I thought Crocs were ugly and just had to be uncomfortable and sweaty to wear. Yesterday I stopped at the local shoe store to see what all the hype was about. Guess what? I bought 2 pair :goodvibes I  them! I wore mine grocery shopping last night and throughout the house. They are so comfortable! :thumbsup2 They really don't look as bad on as you would think. They shape of them reminds me of the "Earth shoes" that were out in the 70's. I didn't go with the real bright colors (I got sage and khaki) and I'm thinking of getting the black ones for work. Try them before writing them off!
