Anyone else hate Crocs, Crocs threads, and even typing "Crocs"

They seem to really be growing in popularity with school kids here too. I can't tell you how many kids i've seen wearing them there. All 4 of us do have a pair. I have only worn them with jeans and I really think they look cute with them. Of course I wear boot cut jeans that are long, so with my black crocs and black socks under them, they just look like a regular pair of clogs. I'm not sure how i'll feel about wearing them with shorts, I do believe they'll look rediculous! lol Luckily we're going to WDW in Dec. so chances are i'll be wearing jeans with my crocs then :woohoo:

how many of the Croc haters wear fanny packs?

Never!! Even if I could stand to have a purse strapped to the front of my stomach, where would I put the cameras, water bottle, cell phone, wallet, glasses case [for I don't hook those flippy sunglass thingys onto my prescription glasses either], etc. etc.? Sporty small backpack all the way.

Depends on where you live I guess, my DD tells me Crocs are now "out" at school and Uggs are "in."

Side note- I dont wear a fanny pack.
ACK, I never knew this about you. Hmmm... ;) :teeth: :rotfl2:
Let me ask you...Do you think your Crocs are pimp? :lmao:

Sorry, I just refuse to believe that there's only 1 kind of comfortable shoes in the world and they just happen to be the ugliest shoes in the world. Style may not be everything, but it's SOMETHING. How you look says something about your respect for yourself and for others, who have to look at you.

And, honestly, does anyone think teenage girls are the best model to hold up as evidence of style? Shall we all go get our bellybuttons pierced, so we can show them off in our low-rider jeans with the thongs sticking out of the back?

I started wearing Crocs about 2 years ago at work (before the whole croc mania hit...). I'm a labor and delivery nurse and myself + 60+ other nurses on our unit alone swear by them. Yeah, they're not the prettiest things in the whole world- But I must say they do wonders when you're on your feet for 12 hour shifts. Once all the "hub-bub" began and I started to see more and more people wearing them at wdw I figured "why the heck not???" You'll see me in "the world" in 8 days runnin' around in my pink beaches!!! :upsidedow

HA!! I KNEW IT!!!

I knew that's how all this was started!

BTW, This coming October, I plan on wearing Crocs(if they work for my feet)...AND possibly my WDW fanny pack...AND we saw matching shirts when we were just there that we loved and are going to have made for OUR trip(though I highly suspect my 17yo will refuse to wear one, she also tells me that ther eis ONE girl in her school that has Crocs and she is a band geek...oh well...what can you do??)....

HA..Ima dork.....always have been....proud of it!

ETA: What could be worse than the Crocs thing??? Well, now that GAUCHOS are back in style(Yes, I had a pair in 6th grade)....are we going to have to see women wearing GAUCHOS with theior CROCS????

I am with the "anti-fanny pack" group and am currently in the market for a "sporty small backpack" to carry all the above items. Any suggestions where to buy? A place for the water bottle seems to be the biggest dilemma. I have looked so many places and just can't seem to find the right thing. Sorry to hijack this thread, but if anyone can help I would really appreciate it alot.

By the way...I gotta tell you, this thread has given me a great laugh today-which I desperately needed! Thanks!

ACK!!!! Gouchos with Crocs!!! I may die out of sheer fashion horror!!!

Ok....we've had some fun here with the 'Off Topic' retailation to weeks of Crocs Lovers threads. This IS an off topic thread but it's been great fun to poke back at those who didn't seem to mind Crocs being off topic until someone said they were as ugly as they are. ;)

So....off to Community Board with you! Thanks for a good laugh, folks, and in the spirit of 'Can't We All Just Get Along', maybe those of us who prefer comfortable shoes that also look good can still smile and wave to the Crocs Lovers if we see them in the parks. :hippie:

"Crocs" Take A Bite of Women's Feet
-----------------------------
USoA Today

ANYTOWN, USA - The 'Crocs' phenomenon has found its first victim. These holey rubber wonder shoes, adored by 6 year olds and soccer moms alike have taken suburbanites by storm invading both shopping malls and the local Wal-Mart.

Daisy McDuck, 24, from Suburban Villa, was coerced into purchasing a pair of these super sandals by vehement members of a popular theme park message board who insisted her feet would fare better for it. She visited The Shoe Emporium at Suburban Villa Mall late Monday afternoon.

It was there that McDuck was found on the floor, violently shaking and crying and bleeding from large gaping wounds at her ankles.

She was immediately admitted to Suburban Villa Medical Center. Dr. Mouse later described McDuck’s condition as resulting from a “minor psychotic episode” resulting from overwhelming horror and disgust at the hideousness of the footwear she had just put on her feet. The cuts were a result of McDuck’s attempt to saw off her feet with a combination of a shoe horn and her car keys.

McDuck wounds will be treated and she will be checked by psychiatrists before being discharged.

I thought for sure this would be followed by a string of posts:
"Is this for real?"
"Did this really happen?"
"Were you kidding?"
"Please tell me that's a joke."

...if you're going to wear Crocs with gauchos, you might as well go all the way and slap on a pair of leg warmers bunched up around the ankle too.

I still can't get past the shame of people wearing socks with sandals of any kind, let alone the Finger Jello shoe. Did you know other countries say they can tell a tourist is an American simply by the fact they're wearing socks with sandals? Oh, the humiliation!

But Crocs and Gouchos....*SHUDDER*. It doesn't get much worse than that. Unless, maybe, it's a MAN wearing Crocs with a Speedo............(actually, a man wearing Crocs with anything)

*Cleo faints dead away*

Hey Croc wearers! Mario and Luigi called. They want their shoes back!

Pimpin' ain't easy, especially when you're wearing kicks so ugly your posse will kick your "butt" :lmao:

You think pimps let their girls wear crocs? I mean, those girls turn the pavement everyday, their feet have gotta hurt! :rotfl:

I haven't, and can't, see my 15 year old daughter or any of her friends wearing them. Funny how trends can be regional.

Hmmm and here I thought for sure you would be a Croc wearer. :duck: :rotfl2:

I think this thread needs a pic of our dream shoes as shown on Oprah! Sigh...

Crocs are just plain ugly. There are plenty of sandals that are comfortable out there without having to resemble Jason's mask on Friday the 13th! They might be popular in some areas, but here in trendy So Cal, I haven't seen a single person wearing them! Just for the heck of it, I tried a pair on once. They were not comfortable, they didn't fit right (too wide and flappy), and they were just not my style. They made me look like a duck. I'll take my comfy Clark sandals any day!

MARIO BATALI THE GUY FROM FOOD NETWORK WHO IS A MILLIONAIRE SPORTS A NICE UGLY PAIR OF ORANGE ONES EVERYWHERE HE GOES....LOL :rotfl2:

I know they are ugly, but I too love mine, they are very comfortable!

I know a billionaire (male) who lives on the beach in Malibu (and dates movie stars) who wears them everywhere.

He was given an opportunity to invest in the company but turned it down or he'd be even richer.

What I think is so cute is all of the little 5 year old boys who seem to have fallen in love with them in bright colors.

I was at the store the other day and a couple of little boys were just "loving" their crocs - bright green for one and red for the other. (two different families).

That's so funny - when I see a man with sandals and socks the first thing I think of is a geeky European guy. I saw that in Europe decades before I ever saw it in the U.S.
