Anyone else getting CC declined on MDE?

There are several great ADRs available right now that we want for for trip in May, but when I put in our card to guarantee it says card id declined. It's not a true credit card, but a debit. There is plenty of $$ in there, no reason for it to not be good. Anyone else having issues?

Thanks for any help!

Yes, I tried using our debit/credit combo cards and they were declined even though there is plenty of money in the accounts. I had to use a regular credit card. I know that in the past I have used the debit/credit cards, but they didn't work this time. This was over a week ago for me.

I changed to a straightup credit card and they are going through like a dream. I'll have to be really careful, I don't want to get any charges on the business card, but at least I can get the ressies.

I had the same thing happen with my debit card this past September. Must be relatively new, as last year the same card worked fine!

I think it has something to do with the "hold" that the reservation puts on the guarantee. So, when I look at my credit card bill it looks like $1 has been charged per reservation but it technically hasn't. I'm assuming because it's a debit card, this hold is not possible so you need to guarantee with a credit card, not debit. The reason previous reservations (before the guarantee rule change) went through is that they are actually charging you for your reservation up front instead of just holding your reservation with the card.

Actually, I think it is a glitch rather than a policy change because it only happens occasionally. I would hope Disney never requires a credit card to the exclusion of debit and prepaid cards because there are a lot of people out there that don't use credit.

I just made my ADRs for February using my travel debit card without any problem, so for now I think this is a matter of just needing to try again if you run into a problem, just like all the other website issues with Disney.

Yes, I had this happen back in October when booking ADRs. I tried over the course of several days, both online and by telephone. It was my Disney debit card, which I use everyday and had plenty of funds available. The system just would not accept it. I ended up having to use a regular credit card. But have since been able to make ADR's using the same debit card that would not work back in October. Strange :confused3

It could be your bank and not the Disney site. Especially with all the breach stuff that has gone on. My bank has done this to me in the past.

Eighteen months ago, we started our WDW vacation with a two day stop at US, staying at RPH. I checked in with a credit card because hotels almost always put a hold on debits. We went to Publix and bought water and snacks, no problem with debit. Ate at Three Broomsticks, debit declined. DH freaks, I pay cash and try to convince him that it is just a glitch. It is a Sunday and we use a credit union, so no one to call, but I go online and show him that there is plenty in the account.

We stop at TCBY in citywalk, debit card goes through without a hitch. Check out of hotel next day with debit, again no problem, so I assume glitch was with Three Broomsticks. We move to WDW and charge back to the room until I try to use debit in World Showcase, declined. We go off property, declined at CVS. I call bank and am told that FL is on their watch list and they won't authorize charges without us telling them we are going. I raise Cain, am promised card will work from then on. Sometimes it did, sometimes it didn't. Several Epcot CMS told us they see it all the time, and that how the charge is run and by what type of company (restaurant, store, etc) makes a difference.

Oh sorry! To clarify, I was thinking that it was a bank issue, not a Disney issue. So, it was the bank that was prohibiting the transaction rather than Disney. I'm just speculating though. It could just be a glitch in one or the other system.
