Anyone else get the JCP $10 "not-a-coupon"?

I got one. I do not have a card with them. I really like the change over. I do wish they would send out a coupon here or there.

I get so sick of playing the Kohls game. They mark stuff up really high. They won't take expired Kohls cash. I never let mine expire, but I know stuff comes up. They won't combine recipts to get the $10. They made my store a smaller store and they have no clerance and never have the newer stuff like other stores.

Got one today, haven't been in a jcp since November last year. Have never had a jcp credit card either. I'll take DD this weekend to see if she can find a hoodie or something.

They won't take expired Kohls cash. . . They won't combine recipts to get the $10.
Are you really complaining that they won't take an expired COUPON? Kohl's cash is a coupon. What stores do? And I know for a fact that most Kohl's will take expired Kohl's Cash and other expired coupons.

I never let mine expire. But most if not all stores took ones that had just expired. It's not really a coupon, you spend $50 to get that $10. It's now policy to NOT take the expired cash. This is new, so it may not be widespread, but it is a fact they will not take it--even one day. I was behind a woman who had some a few weeks ago. This is going to upset a lot of people.

I don't like the crazy price changes. We walked into Kohls, my husband was buying a pair of shoes, they rang up $30. There were no signs and I had no idea there was a sale, but I guess it was early bird. We checked out half hour later after I picked a few things out and they rang up $50. The scanner was still ringing them up at $30. I thought we had seen the price wrong, but we need to make it get to $50. I was not buying them when not 20 min before they were $20 cheaper. And it was well after 2 when those types of sales are over, yet the scanner still had the wrong price. They would not mark them down. They said the scanner sometimes took 1-3 hours to go back to normal price.

My husband got a coupon as well. He didn't even think he was on their email list, but he must have been.

It is a coupon that they give you for spending the $50. You then have to come back and spend more money to use it. It is a gimmick.

It is a gimmic, but I am sure like most people that $10 is factored into the price of the item that is bought.
I am not saying I will never go there again. I just don't like playing the game. More than half the time I can find the item cheaper at Sams or Costco or Amazon.

I'm done with Jcpenney too. I don't really like their strategy either. :3dglasses

I had a hard time finding something, but was determined to.

I ended up by the handbags, and found a luggage tag/passport book set discounted to $3. There were 4 of them left, so I grabbed them.

They actually are very nice. I am keeping one, and adding the other 3 to the Christmas gifts I got family.

I was shocked that I actually found something. The store is so sad.
:(

I was looking for a "college T-shirt" a couple of weeks ago as I was going to a football game at a large PAC-12 university.

JCP wanted about $25 for the shirt. Went across the street to Ross and got the exact same shirt for $6.99 -- and why are they failing....

Anyway, JCP sales were down something like 20 percent in the first quarter of this year, and down about the same in the second, according to Wall Street Journal. My Forbes magazine this week had a short blurb about the 10 percent coupon and noted sales were still plummeting and the CEO may soon be hopping out.

Anyway, according to the news reports, JCP sent out a burst of e-mails with coupons a few weeks ago, and though dear wife gets JCP e-mails none of hers had the coupon. But, she got it in the dear old snailmail on Monday...And, yes, JCP denies they are "coupons."

None of us have a JCP card, although my wife worked for them back in college --when was that -- 1893 or something. :rolleyes1

I ran up there today and couldn't find anything to use my dh's coupon on. They did have some cute things on clearance in the Jrs dept but nothing left in my dd's size. I'll probably just use it on a pair of socks next time I'm at the mall.
I haven't even printed the one I got in my email, not sure its worth the ink.

If anyone that got it in email is not going to use it and wouldn't mind passing it on I would love to use it for kids' clothes for our Resource Center at my youngest's school. I could send my email address and it would be appreciated.
