Anyone else feel down about all the neg. Poly reviews?

<<<RANT MODE IS ON>>>

OK, I've read just about as many threads concerning bad reviews at the Poly as I can stand. I refuse to read any more of them, so this will be my last response on the subject, not that anybody cares.

Actually I'm getting pretty bored with all the bad Poly reviews. Some people think that just because they are paying $300 - $450 / night that everything should be absolutely perfect for "their" trip. What $300 - $450 / night will get you is a resort with great theming and an unbeatable location.

"It was noisy in our room", "a trash can was full", "mousekeeping took to long to clean our room", "the room was to dirty to perform surgery in", blah, blah, blah... This can and does happen at ALL of the resorts.

If you want a resort with great theming and unbeatable location then go for the Poly. If you want complete peace and quiet with absolutely no problems then pull the bubble over your house and stay home!

In 18 visits to the Poly over the last 17 years (roughly 160 nights) we've had a few problems, nothing earth shattering that ruined our vacation though. We've also had a few issues with BWI and DL. NEVER had a problem at the Poly with noise though, don't know where this comes from. Probably from people who grew up as spoiled little brats that mommy and daddy couldn't please enough and who think everybody in the other 900+ rooms should be absolutely silent because it's time for "ME" to take a nap or go to sleep. GROW UP!

Maybe I should just b&m like many others do about problems I've had there so that more people will stay somewhere else. This will give me a better shot at a discount at the Poly when I go again in Dec.

Thank the good lord for people like you:thumbsup2 We will be at the Poly during the first week of August and just about had Disney move us elsewhere. I have dreamed of staying here and nearly let a few bad apples spoil it for me.

We returned from an 8 night stay on July 17. It was absolutely wonderful with the exception of one minor incident that did not even involve a Poly CM. My kids are already telling DH that we have to go back next year and stay at the Poly again which would be the third time there for us.

I'm sorry that some people have had bad experiences, but really, I think most Poly guests are happy with their stay.

My family stayed at the Poly last October. This August we booked the AKL but we have been forced to select a new resort due to the construction at the AKL. My first choice was the Poly. I can not wait to go back. I loved being on the monorail. The other monorail resort can not compare to the Poly.

I always take the reviews with a grain of salt. We've stayed at the Poly 3x and 2 were lagoon view concierge. All three stays were very good. Mousekeeping was a bit slow but that was the only complaint. The concierge service was excellent and the only thing I could complain about would be the guest who left total messes in the lounge. Come on, how hard is it to pick up your dishes and put them on the tray so other people could find a clean table to sit at.

Everyone who has the Poly booked.........

1.....Have a great time...you will....
2.....Enjoy your surroundings and relax
3.....Come back and write a thread...(What I LOVE about the Poly!!)

Some folks didnt have a magical time...dont allow that to hinder your upcoming stays:)

That is what my family and I plan to do when we stay there this coming December.

I for one like to hear both the good and the bad. I think just as many people have reported having a great trip at the Polynesian as those who didn't. I think you have to look at what bothered them about their trip and ask yourself if it would bother you? I for one hate the fact that the volcano pool is very crowded. I find it discouraging to her people come back and report this over and over again. We had problems with the overcrowding on our last trip in Aug 2004, so this time around I'm planning a couple of mornings around the pool so it won't be an issue every day.
I say look at what bothered them, they have a right to their opinion, and decide if it will make or break your trip. Hey why not notice the beautiful foliage around the resort instead of how full the trash can is?
You know if you aren't happy you could always move to a resort that is available. Don't stay put and be miserable, there are just too many great resorts at WDW where you can have a fabolous time.:thumbsup2
