I'm allergic to ragweed and usually don't experience symptoms until the middle of August and sometimes not until the end of August.

Well my eyes have been itchy (Thank goodness for Patanol eye drops!!) and I feel pressure in my sinuses for a few weeks already!! What's the deal with that?!?!?

I live in Massachusetts but have been spending a lot of time in NJ too and I've had these symptoms in both places.

Anyone already being bothered by allergies earlier than usual this year????

It's definitely something in this neck of the woods. I am MISERABLE, and usually do not get like this til much later in August, and have been like this for about a week now. I think the lack of rain has something to do with it. My regular meds are not even making a dent and I cannot even get in to see my allergist for another 3 weeks. :grrrrr: By then, symptoms will prob be gone.

I seem to have a constant battle with allergies this year. Usually I just get them bad in March, September and October.:(

and then the next things are fast and furious....I have been taking something for pressure headaches since early May.....then the eye drops for dry and itchy eyes.....and I have had it.....I guess I will stay in my AC house and not venture...until the three feet of snow arrives.....yuck...only fooling

YES! DS and I were sleeping out in the tent last night and I woke up with my nose tingling, running, ears popping and my throat sore. Usually this starts in about a week but it definately is hay fever. I take Livostin nasal spray. Works very well.

Usually my worst times are May & October but this year I seem to be having trouble all summer. I'm living on Allegra D. It's the only thing I've found that really helps me.

Thankfully mine haven't started yet. I decided to go off my allergy meds for the first trimester of my pregnancy. I think I'm going to start Claritin next week. I'm hoping that will be enough in advance to have it kick in before all the stuff I'm allergic to comes up.

I was having the same problem with ragweed allergies, and spoke to my allergist about it this morning.

Actually, my allergies have been horrible all year :(
The allergist said ragweed is coming out early in a lot of areas this year and it's going to be a bad fall because of the lack of snow last winter.

I guess we didn't get the good cold freeze this year. So I'm drugged up to the max

I've been having a horrid summer. Itcy, watery eyes. Nose running continually. I look like I've been on a crying jag all the time. This is one of the worst summers I can remember. Unfortunately the only thing that works for me is Benedrill, but puts me to sleep so I can't take it when I'm working. Ho Hum! Here's hoping the upcoming rain and cooler weather will give me some relief.

ME!! My head is pounding and it just feels like a sinus headache! Plus it takes me half a day after I get up to get all the gunk out of my head. I have gone throught Kleenex after Kleenex after Kleenex. I was just sitting here thinking no not already!!!

*ugh* I'm feeling worse as the day's going by...

Two weeks ago I was really not feeling well and now I know why, it's these stinking allergies!

Boots, I feel exactly the same way you do, and not even a hot shower is helping. I'll have to call the doctor and get a prescription for something for allergies, with a decongestant, that won't make me drowsy. Benedryl works great but I hate feeling knocked out during the day. And a decongestant alone doesn't do the trick either.

Until this year, I thought I was outgrowing these allergies!!!!!!:(

My allergist INSISTS that the best line of defense is the daily nasal spray. The prescription Rhinocort works well for me. It also helps against Nonallergic Rhinitis(smoke, perfume etc, not real allergies but acts the same!). I also use Allegra for flareups. He says I should use the spray everyday because if you don't start until you have the flareup, it takes a couple days to kick in. There is also a saline flush(with a syringe bulb) to do in the shower when my sinuses are acting up. It really opens you up! :D . Mine are doing ok in N. FL at this moment, though I know I just jinxed myself and will be miserable tomorrow:rolleyes: ! Good luck!
