Another camping lover here!!
DH and I started out with a tent, then graduated to a pop-up which we had for several years while the kids were growing up. Then we graduated to a 5th wheel and we're on our second one of those. We can still enjoy all the outdoor aspects of camping (sitting by the campfire at night, roasting marshmallows, cooking outdoors, taking nature walks, etc.) but we have our own bed, bathroom and air conditioning. The best of both worlds IMHO.
And now that both our grown children have campers it's even MORE fun to go camping with them and the grandchildren!!
MagicalMom: Another good camping "recipe" that we like are Hobo Pies. You just take large pieces of heavy duty aluminum foil and place chunked up boneless pieces of chicken, chunked up potatoes, onion, carrots, celery, corn, etc. in the center, add some dabs of butter, seasonings, a squirt of Italian dressing and fold 'em up. You can use any meats really, and any vegetables (sometimes I add green beans, zucchini, summer squash). You can either bake them in the coals of your campfire, or do like I do and bake them at home and then just warm 'em back up when we're camping. They make a whole "meat and potatoes meal" and are easy to do, we love them.
