Then we reached "that certain age" when you're back just cant take sleeping on the ground. So 2yrs ago we bought a pop-up. I was worried that it wouldn't "feel" like camping, but I got over it.
It still smells like canvas and feels like a tent. Only it's off the cold, hard ground. and the bed is soft. We still use the comfort stations and spend most of our time outside the camper. If anything, we camp even more now than we used to because the preparation &set up is so much easier.
Campers are a breed apart--a little sturdier, more adventurous, and definitely not high maintenance. I only wish I had more weekends.
I am seriously debating upgrading from our tent to a pop-up. I'm just afraid that it won't have the "togetherness, campy" feel that a tent has.

And we have plenty of wood for the fire.

I can honestly say I'm not high maintenance.Campers are a breed apart--a little sturdier, more adventurous, and definitely not high maintenance.

We also enjoy just going to a KOA and setting up.....has he plus of the pool and playground.....our area KOA always has something going on around the holidays.....Labor Day they'll have watermelon races in the pool, scavenger hunts, pancake breakfast. Halloween they have hay rides and trick or treating.
The only thing I don't like is packing up all the stuff when it's time to go home.

You're sleeping in your own bed with your own bedding (I'm starting to get the heebeegeebees about hotel beds). Love the family togertherness and the outdoor living. Hate the 'comfort stations' and outhouses. I want a trailer just for the toilet and shower!
