Got threatened by the FBI a few nights ago. Had to pay them in BitCoins or I would be "under the rest".
I am assuming it is AI that is used to link people with a common association to addresses they never lived at. I got mail for my DILs father at my address. He lives 400 miles away. My DIL has never lived at my address. She and my son have been married over 10 years. My son has not lived at my address in 14 years. It was a solicitation from a law firm that is settling a class action lawsuit against a local hospital. A hospital that my DIL's father has never done business with.our household immediately reccognizes a scam when it's addressed to dh or my kids using the hyphenated version of my last name that I used professionally years ago. it's even more clear when they flip flop the 2 last names so dh and the kids end up with stuff using my maiden name as their last name![]()

.Yeah, we started getting mail for my MIL after she passed, but we did forward her mail to our house after we sold her house. And Trader Joes some how started sending us their little ad newsletter addressed to her late husband.we get stuff for late mil and fil at our address that they were never associated with (we used a p.o. box for forwarding when we had to deal with estate stuff). funniest was to fil a full 15 years AFTER his passing from a company selling step-up senior housing ('from active to assisted to attentive 24 nursing care') with the tagline 'IT'S NEVER TOO LATE TO START PLANNING'. ummmmmmmm yeah, when someone has been housed in their urn for 15 years it IS too late.
My favourite scam was:
"Hi. I'm from the Internet. I can tell by your screen that you have the malariaware virus. To fix it, simply forward your credit card details to me."
Yeah, right.
Yes, but this one is connected to iCloud or so it says. I have been getting them for at least a month now, but they must have an end of the month deadline because I have gotten at least 10 of those today. It makes it easier that they cannot charge it because they can't get to my card number. So sad!I don't open them but the subject line pretty much spells it out.
But it sure is taking a long time for those papers
.Apparently my name is now Delbert and 'they' want to buy my house in Colorado, per the text message (lol I live in FL). I also owe hundreds in tolls (I've don't drive toll roads) and finally 'they' (whoever 'they' are) are finalizing 'a case against me' and I need to be home to get the paperwork. What did I do?But it sure is taking a long time for those papers

Yup, as a loyal customer I just received notice that I won some fabulous prize from Harbor Freight. Searching back in my memory I haven't been in a Harbor Freight store or ever purchased more than a gift certificate. That would be over 12 years ago. I'd like to meet what they consider an occasional customer.I have also been told I won things from all the places I go to or use.
But none of them have an email associated with then and all are in the trash folder.
I could fill my house with all the things I have "won".
