anyone eer make a surpise journal

I was just wondering if anyone has ever made a surprise trip journal. I was thinking of doing this for my 12 yr old. I may include a page on all the great things she has done the past year. I was thinking during the plane trip she can use it to make pre park itinerary. It can have a page with coupons for things (hair do, mickey ice cream), maybe a page with a giftcard holder. Anyother ideas? I just worry about putting a lot of work into it and it not meaning a lot to her.
