We did DC in 2003 and since it had always been a dream of mine to swim with dolphins I had a fantastic time.

When I go with DF and DM next year I would like to do it again.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

We went last March and and although the swim - experience was very good and everyone helpful we probably wouldn't go back.
I don't think the impact would be the same 2nd time around.
Plus through no fault of DCs our enjoyment was spoilt by the unusually cool weather , the water was freezing.

This is something I have often wondered about, Florence.
We did DC in 2004 and we all had a really fantastic day. :cloud9: The weather was wonderful and the dolphin swim was an unforgettable experience. I would like to do it again one day, maybe in about 10 years time. It will be very interesting hearing from anyone who has done it more than once. :)

Hi,

We did DC in 2002 and like Johnny it was slightly spoiled by the weather, we obviously knew it would be cooler on Xmas day but they ran out of wetsuits which made it hard for the children to keep warm in the water. We did go back and do it again in better weather (on the same trip) and we had a fab time.

I don't think we would do it again at DC, I have thought about going to Florida Keys and doing a dolphin swim there but not on our next trip, just not enough time......

We have done DC twice first in 2002 and then in 2004, the reason that we did it a second time, youngest DS had had a swim instructor physically hold him under the water about 6 weeks prior to our trip and obviously I won't go into full details now (see dolphin swim and splashes on the seaworld board) he was fearful of water and being splashed, we did DC but he clung to me throughout the whole dolphin swim - and neither of us got as much out of it as we had hoped. When DH was made redundant we decided that as we were going back to Orlando we would treat ourselves again ~ DS enjoyed it so much this time DH and i watched from the waterline whilst both boys swam out for the ride and it was a fantastic experience to see that he had got some of his water confidence back ~ this improved aftr DC and now he has joined the swimming club with eldest DS ~ would I go again ~ you bet I would!!!

You really enjoyed it last time and this time you're taking your Mum with you so wouldn't it be great to do it again? if you can afford it go for it!

We have done it twice the second time was much better as it was my surprise day for my 40th birthday. DH didn't tell me where we were going until 7am that morning. We had a dolphin called Akai who was had such a lovely nature much better than the 1st one Roxy. My DH had the birthday package for me so that made it more personal I don't think we will do it again as i don't think we could better that day.

Not twice but three times!!! Went with DH in 2002 for our first wedding anniversary then took DMIL in 2004 and finally last year DH and I did Trainer For A Day!! Really enjoyed all 3 experiences as each was so different. 2004 and 2005 visits are in the trip reports section including piccies :)

Claire ;)

We are going for the 3rd time!! 1st was good, 2nd better cos we knew where we were going, skipped the tour & went straight to the beach/pool & arrived alot earlier, it was also a suprise for DD :)
Taking mum & dad this year for their first visit :)

We've also been three times and each time has been equally enjoyable. It's such a nice break from the usual park-visiting routine, and a wonderfu, relaxing day out. However, we've been lucky with the weather - I certainly wouldn't enjoy it as much if it was cold or raining.

:wizard:

Never been to DC re age limit so far of my son, but did a Dolphin swim in Cozumel and also Acapulco with DCL, and enjoyed both of them, it was so nice and enjoyable.

Thanx for your responses ~ I've decided I am going to go ahead and book it :thumbsup2

We did DC for the first time last year and loved it so much that we will go again perhaps next year.

Have a great time...again :)

Just to let people know my brother went & it rained all day, they left early & on the way home their taxi driver told them that DC will let you go back for free if you get bad weather, so he called them when he got back to his hotel & they got another day at DC free, without the dolphin swim though (they had managed to do this in the rain!)
