While its over a year before our next family trip, DH and I will be in Orlando in 5 weeks for a convention and we're going to spend a couple of days in the parks. The plan is to purchase two partial day tickets (those "after 2pm" tickets for convention goers) and spend one afternoon/evening at MK and the other at Epcot. We can do 2 days after 2:00 p.m. for just a little more than 1 full day in 1 park ($75 for one full day; $99 for 2 "after 2pm" days). I'm soooo excited! This will be the first time DH and I have done Disney sans kids. I have made dinner reservations at California Grill and Flying Fish. Never eaten at either of those - how'd I do?

I guess we'll sleep in, do convention stuff 'til 2:00 p.m. and then hit the parks. I made our dinner reservations late so we could spend as much time in the parks as possible.

Has anyone else ever done these partial day tickets? How'd it work for you? Do you think we'll be too tired for such late dinners, i.e. 8:30 and 9:00 p.m.?

I've used them before, but I was traveling alone, so I just grabbed a quick CS mail in the park.

The tickets will actually be accepted by the turnstiles at 1:45pm (or 3:45 with an "after 4:00" ticket)

Where do you get these partial day tickets? We will be in Orlando for a convention in a little over a month. I did not know these tickets existed. I have been pricing full day tickets.

Thanks for that little bit of info! If you've done these before, did you feel like you had plenty of time to do what you wanted in the parks? I'm optimistic that the crowds will have thinned out a little by then and we can get alot accomplished in 6+ hours. Am I kidding myself?

We have the option to purchase them through the convention's website. You should check it out. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me!

I know that as a fact from working the gates at the parks. The computer is set to allow those tickets 15 minutes before the stated time. But if you try them 16 minutes (or more) they will reject as "Not Valid Time".

This is an interesting thread! Does the convention have to be held AT Disney for these tickets to be available? We're going to a convention in the fall, but it's at the regular convention center in Orlando...we'd LOVE to get reduced price tickets for after 4pm!!! :cool1:

Do you know if Shades of Green would sell them?:cheer2:

It is my understanding that you have to be attending a convention held on Disney Property. It does include the Swolphin and Hotel Plaza Boulevard hotels.

I'm assuming it is something the convention would choose to offer. Our convention is not on Disney property, though. It's at the Orange County Convention Center and none of the convention hotels are on Disney property either. Guess it's just up to the convention. Good luck!

It definitely does not have to be an on property convention. I used to work for a Destination Management company, and we sold Disney, Universal and Sea World convention products to all the groups we handled, most of which were staying off property. Whoever is in charge of planning the convention for your company would be your contact to find out if Disney convention tickets will be available to your group.
