Dan (DH) and I are leaving for our cruise to Mexico next week. It'll be a first time flying alone for us without assistance from family members. Dan has been having anxiety issues though about where we need to go once we land in Long Beach from Portland. I've traveled enough by airplane with my mom to know what to expect. We're supposed to meet up with his dad once we land.

I was just wanting to hear what others have experienced doing a Carnival cruise with a wheelchair. Either with themselves, or family members. This will be a first time that I'll be doing a cruise with my manual wheelchair. We're going on the Splendor, one of the newest ships. Dan and I are both very excited. This is my first American cruise as I've done the Blue Lagoon Cruise twice.

Try going over to www dot cruisecritic dot com and checking out the disabilities thread over there. They have some great advice on cruising with a wheelchair and/or an ecv and you will probably find someone who has had experience on the Carnival Splendor or knows someone who has. HTH.
