Anyone do the tangled lantern photo op?

Thank you! I do think we need to do something with this. DH and I don't get photos we like often. I have a couple Disney related prints that I think it would go well with
I've wanted this photo for a long time and it was the first time we'd managed to get it. As PP has mentioned, the line for this photo op can be really long and take a long time since each party always wants multiple photos (single for each member, pairs, all together, etc)
Somehow, and I'm sure it was partly because of the late hour and partly the cool temps, we hit a fairly short line after the midnight fireworks on 12/30

We did this on 12/30 as well! We hit it up around 9 before the dessert party. We waited about 25 minutes as the line was pretty long. The photos did come out well, as did yours! Pretty cool, though when they asked us to look "in each other's eyes" we busted out laughing instead of some of the intense romantic glares others gave. The CMs (all 3 of them) laughed with us.

Is this offered every evening at MK? Lines won't matter, we'll wait! DS's girlfriend is a huge Tangled/Rapunzel fan so I'm trying to fit any and all related things into our trip. So far I've got the Bon Voyage breakfast, Pascal scavenger hunt, and FoF parade. This would be a wonderful pic for them.
We wanted to do it the evening of 1/18, but we didn't see the Photopass photographer anywhere in the area, and believe me, I SEARCHED. Next visit, I guess.

We waited maybe 15 minutes. I think it was more like 10. Trying to remember what time of night it was...pretty sure it was right before fireworks started, 7:45ish.

We tried last September but it was the day before the hurricane (when they closed the parks for 2 days) and it was suuuper windy. The photographer was there but said they sent him to work with no lantern that night. Next time.

Well, I tried to load a photoshopped version of your picture for you .... but I'm not sure how to load it? Anyone want to tell me what I did wrong? lol

Oh thank you so much! This is so kind of you.

It's probably Photobucket. You have to pay a ridiculous amount of money now before they allow you to directly use a photo on forums. I downloaded it with the link.

Again, thank you. I am really bad with Photoshop.

I think it looks so cool, but I’m only really seeing stock photos of it.

Does anyone here have a photo they have taken with it that they can share.

So crazy that such a cool photo op is by the bathrooms!

My mom and I did this photo op on a weeknight, the week of 9/16-9/22. Our picture is beautiful. We went over after Happily Ever After and waited about 5-10 minutes. The night we went to the Halloween party the line was insane. Plus I just love how that whole area looks at night. Enjoy!

I love Tangeled as well and really enjoyed the Bon Voyage breakfast during my last trip in September. Tangled is also featured in the daytime castle show, Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire as well as the Once Upon a Time castle projection show and/or Happily Ever After at night. I cannot remember if it’s only in one of the nighttime shows but I’m sure others can help clarify. I think I am one of the few people who enjoy Mickey’s Royal Friendship Faire lol. Have a great trip!

I haven't done it, but I'd certainly like to, maybe this year :)

Do they do these during evening EMH as well?

The night we did it was during EMH

Awesome! Thank you!! My current plan is to scoot over after Illuminations my first day when MK is open until midnight anyway if I'm not too tired from my flight and all - but good to know I'll have the back-up of evening EMH later in the week!

The lantern photo was one of the only “must do” photos on our last trip. We did it during MVMCP - about a 15 min wait with about 6-8 groups ahead.

While the lantern shot is better, note that in roughly the same area during the day you may find a magic shot photographer that’ll take photos and add Rapunzel’s chameleon, Pascal, with the tower in the background.

There is also another “lantern photo” by the teacups (with a greenish, Alice-themed lantern) - but I didn’t think it was nearly as good as the Rapunzel lantern photo. On the plus side, there was no line for that one when we did it.

Perfect photo.

Wow, these pictures are absolutely beautiful. Where exactly do I need to go to take this photo, I am embarrassed to say I never saw or heard of this. My DH and I are going in May for our anniversary without the kids and would love it. My DS's girlfriend would love to go to if we return later in the year with all of them.

Also, are there any other photo opts I don't know of? Thanks!

Near the Tangled restrooms in MK.

Foxc63 is keeping a pretty extensive list of special photo ops here. It's mostly Magic Shots. https://www.disboards.com/threads/magic-shots-current-listings.3619546/

A lot of lucky folks on this thread!

This week - end of January, supposed to be low crowds, actual MK crowd levels of 6 - the lines on Wed & Thurs nights looked to be about 40-50 groups long. We walked by a few times, but didn't stop. YMMV.

And during the MNSHP there's one more, with a lantern near the Haunted Mansion
