SeaWorld offers 2 special dining experience 1). where you eat by the killer whales and 2). where you eat by a giant shark tank. I was wondering if the food is comparable. I have 3 boys under 4 and they love aquariums. Thanks. :fish: :fish:

We did the Dine with Shamu a year and a half ago. The show was great but the food was a terrible buffet set up in a small crowded stuffy room with a long line. Everything was cold and tasted prefab compared to any Disney restaurants. We were tired and hot, and ds was only two and free, so the food wasn't that big of a deal to us. The show was worth it though.

We haven't tried the Shark Encounter Restaurant, but I think the counter service has really gone down hill. Very slow and expensive with rude servers, again, I don't think it even comes close to comparing to WDW.

Hope this helps.

I tried to do one last May - but I got a lunch time (I think 1:00pm) and it was just to darn hot...

so this is on my list when I go in a colder time - maybe this Nov....

No,

I think SW food is even pricer than Disney's. I paid $9.60 for a fish sandiwch, fries, milk at a counter service spot by Shaumu Arena.

herc.

We did this Oct 2003....It was okay, but I wouldn't rush to do it again. The food was not that good, and very picked-over. It was very hard to get good pictures unless you had a table right next to the tanks, because they set up 3 rows deep from the tank. You can get better pix at the show. Kind of overpriced, too.

My kids loved Dine with Shamu. The food and show were great they said. My mom took them and had all good things to say about the night.

You may want to check out the SeaWorld board here for some other discussion of this topic-->

1) We thought Dine with Shamu was fantastic. The food was very, very good (on par, if not better, than anything we had at Disney).

2) Shark encounter is a sit-down restaurant, but you can't get seatings ahead of time, you just have to check-in at the podium. The seating area is actually in the old pre-show area for Shark Encounter... there used to be a movie and then the screen opened up to reveal the shark tank, and then you walked down to go "through" the tank.
